What have I started haha.

All I was saying is if they're fanbase is as big as people make out over here, why have bands with supposed smaller fanbases such as Foals, the national etc sold better?

Of course I know album sales aren't everything but they're a fairly decent indicator of popularity.

I think paramore and 30stm share a similar type of fan (teenage girl) yet paramore were number 1 and 30stm 5. That's quite a difference.

if 30stm new album does well then both them and paramore can be considered to headline next year. 30 stm had no issues selling an arena last time and i'm sure they've done that more than once.

they didn't have the biggest crowd last time but end of the day, the fest struggled with foo's headlining, bar Blur, I can't think of a header than would and then even it'd just be day tickets I think. I'm thinking realistic options, not just who people want.

Nah, sorry just that one of them can both be considered. Paramore's new album seems to have got a lot of liking and if 30 STM' (I dislike them by the way) new one does well, you just never know. People were saying about Queens going the same way as Biffy subbing Download then R&L headline, well look where 30 STM are this year and they've had shit loads of radio play success, I'm not sure if more mind but out the UK, are far bigger (though not really relevant).

The best IMO for ticket selling as things stand they could book right now is Arctic Monkeys, Blur and the 3rd is a difficult one but I reckon Depeche Mode would go down well. I'd put Metallica in there but without confirmation of a new album anytime soon there is nothing to go on.

Well early birds haven't sold out so I'm guessing pretty badly currently, however I think in the long run this year will sell well. A lot of people I know, including me, are planning on going to Reading but haven't bothered buying tickets yet as we know there's no rush but we will all end up with tickets in some shape or form when the time comes around. Another factor which I think has effected initial ticket sales is the fact that the level of tickets bought on announcement day to sell on has decreased drastically which I think used to be a sizable chunk of tickets sold. If you have a look on eBay now the secondary ticket market is pretty much dried up and in the last few weeks the few tickets that have gone up for auction have gone for only a little less than face value which is a good sign for demand for the festival but a bad sign for anyone looking for a cheap ticket.

    • The first half of that game was cracking but then I fell asleep at half time. Maybe that's just the momentum of things.

    • A win is a win but it was a very poor game with only 4 shots on target in the whole game. Scotland obviously handed a massive bonus with Brazil and Morocco drawing but I don't think either of them will be too worried.
    • Word of advice, your work-life energy balance should be 60% energy for work and 40% energy for life. If you're drained after a day's work, that is something you should strongly look into. Especially if it is solely due to work.
