Oh good, i hoped that was the case :P yeah, you're right i think. Most likely Paramore based on success so far but i think if they're short of options, 30stm aren't out of the question, as shite live as they are.

My Current hope would be something like Arctics/Blur/Depeche...as you suggested.

But my current guess would be something like Arctics, Paramore and then something else..maybe Metallica, Pearl Jam, Blur, Killers even..

with the likes of 30STM and QOTSA as outside chances..

Yeah, was just wondering after reading the (speculative) thread about the end of Rock Ness and the series of all the medium-large sized festivals that have bitten the dust. R+L took a big risk this year with the other stages and if it doesn't pay off then who knows. The big festivals definitely aren't infallible.

My current guess is Mumford & Sons, Paramore and Blur - although it's merely a guess and nothing more. I think getting The Stone Roses anywhere next year would be a mistake - these latest two Finsbury Park shows I think have just tipped them over, one would've done - it's like 220k then another 120k I think? on top of two 80k a day fests in V, a glasgow 55k+? and a TITP 80k show. It's a shit lot of tickets. They should just work on new material, take next year off and come back but Glasto is the best option for when they come back, booking a seemingly easy sell out show with people then wanting to see the new stuff who couldn't.

Yeah i agree in regard to The Stone Roses, they've overdone it and i think any major UK festival booking them next year shows that they've most likely not got who they wanted. I can see V getting Mumfords and R+L getting Arctics...but it's a long time away, i have no idea why i'm bothering to speculate too much :P

It's a toughie. The only reason in my thinking is I think Arctics may finally hit IOW and that take Reading out of the equation and probably V in fact but leaves TITP/Ireland and option of own outdoor shows next year maybe off of an arena tour later this year. But that is purely speculative - I get the Mumford's think but I think they fit R&L perfectly.

V to me has Muse or similar and GaGa or the likes of written all over it. Muse haven't long played R&L or Glasto. Outdoor stadium shows this year. I did say IOW for them next year and I still stand by it, although I can't see as things stand them not hitting TITP and playing both them hasn't exactly not been done before. I wold say Biffy Clyro and Muse are probably two out of 3 at T.

haha exactly. I thought I'd be able to predict way earlier than this but nope. I am going to say though that I don't think The Stone Roses will hit up anywhere next year and that TITP I think will get Muse and Biffy and probably IOW too. It's been said IOW like Biffy, it's a smaller festival too and they can head that if they are to 160k. IOW only just shared two acts as well, well in 2011 and from what I remember it was a good year for both fests.

This could be, not defo but with the likeliness that IOW will go for an older style band too, what stops them from having The Prodigy next year, although I think Biffy, Muse and The Prodigy would be top notch for them - but it needs a Macca/Bon Jovi/Pearl Jam esque booking I feel.

I forget about AF, but mostly cause I don't really like them. See I thought for a long time that Muse will be at IOW and now Biffy, but then I'll end up putting the same 3 at both of them, not happening.

I think Biffy will play both, no Scottish date, IOW is further out the way and providing they pull R&L off, I see them maybe doing Tennents Vital/Electric Picnic also. They'll be everywhere they can be.

I can see them hitting everywhere possible next year, maybe kicking it out hitting up Glasto a bit like Arctics with it being their only Uk Fest show.

Just can't see Muse not hitting IOW - it's been 7 years next year I think or not hitting Scotland for a 2nd year running. It's just who their 3rd is but you can't blame them looking at Rihanna and thinking someone like GaGa/Timberlake is going to do exactly that.
