It is an odd one to reconcile, 'band that encouraged SOAD to play the festival' on the one hand, 'no metal headliner (according to notorious bullshitter MB, but still)' on the other.

Do we think Rage would count as a 'metal' headliner in Melvin's head? Because they're the only band that come to mind that fit both those criteria, really.

Still want it to be Blur...

V announcing on Monday next week 25/02/13. At least we will know who will not be playing lower down the bill at R&L by then.

End of feb 2013 is when the presale at last years prices I'd expect the R&L announcement the Monday of the following week 04/01/13. Unless the promoters try and force another announcement out before V announces.

I know I'm probably gonna get hated on for saying this, but I'd love Crystal Castles to headline NME. I haven't had a chance to properly see them yet (missed out on their tour and saw Hives instead last year - which I don't regret one bit)

A selfish wish, but one I think might happen. Aren't many dance acts of NME size
