I find it hard to believe Eminem mimed, I saw him in Glasgow and was close enough to see he wasnt miming, he does rap/sing along to a backing track so maybe this is where people are getting confused, its not ideal in any sense but its not miming

Biffy Clyro looking excellent, they're one of those bands who I like a couple of songs by but have never been fanatical about them, but they seem to be playing a blinder here.

Green Day looked good but it seemed to be a standard "going through the motions" set for them, and according to a fair few people Eminem was poor.

I quite like this recent system of booking currently popular bands that will get an excellent crowd to close Reading, with Biffy Clyro, Foo Fighters and Muse being the past three. Ensures the festival will end on a high, rather than getting bands like Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins and Radiohead, none of whom were bad at all but didn't draw the largest crowds when they all played.

It used to be that Foos and Muse were examples of the 'legends' closing Reading, now Biffy ruined that suddenly the pattern is the most popular band of the three close Reading. Patterns patterns everywhere.

I would prefer Radiohead or Smashing Pumpkins to headline over Muse, Foo Fighters and Biffy Clyro, but that's personal preference, and like I say the latter would go down better with da kidz than the former.

The last time the legendary headliner closed Reading was 2009 with Radiohead. Guns N' Roses (yeah I know, but there was no Slash etc) are more legendary than Blink 182, Pulp more so than Muse and maybe even The Strokes if you look at the legacy of Is This It? and The Cure more than Foo Fighters.

It's one of a few recent changes to the line-up formula, like Friday at Reading being the heavy day instead of the Sunday and the Friday headliner being a well established band rather than first time headliners.

There is no formula, there are no patterns.

'The heavy day', 'the legendary/estarblished/popular headiner' are all subjective temrs that mean different things to everyone. Bands cannot be forced into these formulas to prove some kind of pattern.

As far as headliners go, thought Biffy were mundane. Can't be bothered with the all out boring rock n roll shit. Boring.

Green day could've done with cutting their set a bit shorter, way too much to stand in the rain for two and a half hours for them.

Really enjoyed eminem and it seemed like everyone else did too, pretty sure he had the biggest crowd out of the three, this is Leeds.

Found the crowds to be pretty good, fidlar was crazy. Felt sorry for merchandise and splashh playing that 6pm festival republic slot, both quality bands but up against fob and foals.

Green Day and Biffy joint best headliners here. Eminem bored me and the fact he had the nerve to do Airplanes and Love The Way at Reading irritated me somewhat.

Subwise, System were on form, entertaining and all, pretty much what I expected. Little bit quiet. Chase and Status were phenomenal but Reading failed them, they're a headline act. NIN were stunning but Trent irritated me with how he seemingly punished fans for Benn's mistake.

i thought green day and soad were great, though i was at barrier and my ribs got so destroyed.

I really enjoyed editors and foals as well :)

NIN captivated me for teh entire show that i left feeling happy despite the lack of my favorite songs in their setlist.

A-trak was the biggest surprise of the weekend, he was absolutely increadible.

a lot of great bands over the weekend.
