Someone mentioned it the other week, but I'm increasingly entertaining the idea that Paramore could sub for a second year in a row. Bloc Party did it, and Paramore have a new album out in April, so there will be hype for that. They got a massive crowd this year just gone, so people obviously are interested in them. I can't see them being at any other fest, so I'm thinking they will sub R&L again and then tour the UK in autumn/winter.

I would probably have been one of them, it pretty much got wrote off, but I used the same reasoning as you or very similar. They also have songs to fit in with a heavier day if it ends up that way.

Just to say, provided they play, if Bloc Party were to play 3rd, that could work either under Paramore or under Dizzee if he subbed Biffy and still leave room for FOb to play a 4th spot Sunday.

If it happened, it'd work very well for me.

It has been suggested they might. I don't think they'll play lower than 3rd myself but kinda going on the thing people see the whole sunshine comment as making it possible. Then again, I'm also probably looking at thinking the lineup might be stronger than it will haha

No bloc party playing as much as they did was a right buzzkill. I remember looking at the 08 lineup and being abit arsey they were subbing killers when they did a set the year before a slot lower. Thought it was abit cheeky and uninspiring. So I don't even need to go into too much detail when I saw they were subbing again in 09.

Oh and hopefully paramore stay well the f#ck away. Stop hogging top spots bands!

    • We head out in the morning. Couple of nights in New York then up to Boston. Enjoy the games lads and hopefully we get some great football to take our minds off the whole shitshow off the pitch.
    • White Stripes/QotSA at Harewood 2007, Tramlines (and Blue Dot, same weekend) in '23, and Elbow at Jodrell Bank '13.
    • Yeah exactly, the shock moments, group layouts, etc all end up playing out differently once you get into the tournament. However you tweak it, you don't predict shocks.
