I personally can't see Depeche Mode headlining, its not that I wouldn't enjoy them, I just think with Black Sabbath playing it can't be likely, surely?

The Libertines well... I know they played three years ago, but something tells me if they were to be playing gigs next year Melvin wouldn't hesitate to get them. It is probably unlikely, I think I can remember reading somewhere months ago about them playing some more dates.

Also Suede have to headline NME, it would be incredible.

Working in a venue where Jake Bugg will be playing and has sold out very fast, it's worth noting that for a main room show the price was much cheaper than usual for our place at £12.50 where as when Bloc Party played last time you were talking £20+

If they are doing R&L then T have got the jump on them, I imagine that there's quite a large contested catchment area between T and Leeds and if they both have Mumford then T will be stealing potential sales away from Leeds every day.

Interesting, should put pressure on R+L to get some acts announced if T and IOW are completing their headliners before Christmas and Soni are making first announcements (not that I believe Sonisphere will make an announcement before Christmas).

I can't see this going well for Sonisphere... I really am beginning to believe that 2013 will be a new-era in the festival market.

Im not gonna have any confidence in soni 2013 happening until bands start getting announced abd tickets go on sale. All thats really come to light is that they still think theres a chance it could go ahead. I reckon we'll know by the end of this month properly.

Yup. After all, if he's asked a direct question he's not likely to say "we don't know if it's going ahead", is he?

Having said that, going by the "hope to announce before xmas" bit, it sounds like they probably are close to announcing, and I'd guess that they'll try and make that announcement as full as possible (that's what I'd do in their position).
