I don't think that's what he said/meant, it was more like "at R&L you get headliners that are bumped up, headliner that have headlined before and headliners that haven't". More of a general thing rather than that's what we're specifically getting this year.

Don't worry. I was using it mockingly, as I don't believe that, and by his post I don't think he did either. I was just poking fun at the idea that Melvin's announced such formula.

Personally I'd really enjoy Depeche Mode, Mumford and Sabbath (even better if Foals are opposite Sabbath)

I'd be amazed if it was Sabbath and Depeche Mode, I imagine it'll be one or t'other (or another similar band).

One day everyone will come to realise that Mumford and sons are just a flash in the pan gypsy pop rock group and the bubble will burst, until that time festivals are gonna book the shiz outa them and sell a load of tickets!

If it was sabbath, Mumford and depeche mode main. Then alt j, foals and another NME that would rank as one of the dullest set of headliners all time.

I saw sabbath last year and although half decent it was still not too exciting a set or atmosphere, I wouldn't rush to watch it again, depeche mode aside nothing would be interesting.

I don't suppose anyone knows but that's something I agree with. Where are they gonna go from here? They've got two pretty similar albums of the same folky stuff and they're not generic enough to wheel out albums of similar content for years and years. They're already starting to taste the backlash of hyper-popularity too. Put it this way, I can't see them headlining any festival twice. This isn't me not liking them, I'm indifferent, but I can't see their star shining for too long.

Ive no idea if there going to last or not. Sounding the same? most bands do, oasis had a career for nearly 20 years sounding the same. I could give you a long list of headline bands who found a good formula and stuck to it, " mumford are doing well all over the world " and why should they change?
