Heard today Bolton say the bid for Cahill was derisory. My first thought was to agree with coyle, however when I thought about it again, its similar to the price that Pique went to barca, kompany to city and vidic to man utd. I dont think cahill has the potential to be as good as these players. I know those signings were a few years ago but I dont think transfer fees have increased by that much.

I think Boltons asking price of close to 20 million is double how I would value him. For that fee I would be looking for one of the best centre backs in the world proven at champions league and international level. Not a young English centre back lacking in big match experience and with only 1 year left on his contract. I know you have to pay for potential but I doubt that other top sides in europe are paying anywhere near this for the best young players in their country. Good luck to bolton if they can get close to 20 million, I personally think samba is better and probably less expensive. I would also rather gamble abroad than break the bank on cahill.

Silly valuations for the likes of lescott, carrol, henderson etc have really inflated prices. I think wenger is being sensible not being conned by the so called "english premium".

I dont think the media are giving the praise utd deserve.

there reporting about all the injuries arsenal have but we didnt have vidic, rio, rafael, hernandez(sub), valencia, fletcher, carrick(and what a difference), berba.

our carling cup side could be tasty.

It's hard to ignore how f**king shite Arsenal were though isn't it?

On another note, the Manchester maulings are annoyingly overshadowing how well Liverpool also played this weekend. That was one of the best performances I've seen from us in a bog standard league game. Pleased with all the new signings and Suarez really is someting else.

Incredible as the result at Old Trafford was, it has somewhat overshadowed an absolute ass-whooping that 'Arry received at the Lane. Can't help feeling a little bit of schadenfreude towards that one.

Certainly an interesting start to the league thusfar.

Citeh seem to have "clicked" already, United have acres of room to improve despite yesterday. LFC have flattered to deceive but could come good. Chelsk look far fro 100%. AVB already looking like a narky c9nt. Spuds 'n Arse look rocked to their foundations. Real "colour" to the start of the season.

I kind of feel sorry for Man City. When they put 5 past Spurs and went top they'd have been thinking "Man U might beat Arsenal but they're not going to put 5 past them are they?" errrm - no they're not.
