yeah i think he more than likely turned it down last time as he thought of himself subbing as ridiculous so i doubt much has changed

it's a shame that all these speculations of 2011 didn't happen. U2 subbed by Elbow. Coldplay subbed by Kanye. Prince subbed by Beyonce. would've been quite a year

just had my hair done.. and the hairdresser went to see Kanye the other night... said it was awful, boring, wished she hadn't gone... one of the other customers overheard us, and she went too, and thought it was rubbish

having said that, I don't 'know' them, and they might have the worst taste in the world (lovely head massage though... mmmmm)

just sayin'

:sarcastic:

he's like a 10 year old

in need of help

Floorfiller - this is partly the point I was making. Pink Floyd are the type of band that people go back and explore. Some might not like them, but they are almost universally acclaimed as one of the most innovative and classy bands in history.

And I don't want to be lame about this - but Glastonbury does have a slightly difference audience to T, or Oxegen, or V. I really can't see any self-respecting person with Glastonbury tickets going around Twitter or anywhere questioning him as a booking.

I'm going to get a lot of grief for this, but I'm quite pleased that the Prodigy won't be back this year. Frees up the Other headlining spot for someone new, maybe someone who's not played as a headliner before.

i used my sister as an example as in previous years she's only been interested in the likes of V etc, but (and i think Beyonce headlining had a large part to do with this) this year she just wanted to go to Glastonbury (although she didn't get tickets and now upon hearing that Beyonce is at V has lost all interest)

I am afraid we are going to have too wait for at least another 3 or 4 weeks until we get a sniff or all the headliners, unless the Stones come out and announce something to the press beforehand. So, more weeks of pages of nonsense on this thread then!

but the point i was making is that Glastonbury is now THE festival of festivals for EVERYBODY. people who usually wouldn't of ventured to Glastonbury and would've gone to Reading/Leeds/T/Creamfields/V for their lineups are now going to Glastonbury BECAUSE it's Glastonbury and it's just well known that it shits on all of the other festivals, and so whilst a majority will know of Waters / Floyd, there's definitely an increase in recent years of people who wouldn't have a clue. i used my sister as an example as in previous years she's only been interested in the likes of V etc, but (and i think Beyonce headlining had a large part to do with this) this year she just wanted to go to Glastonbury (although she didn't get tickets and now upon hearing that Beyonce is at V has lost all interest)

more that there's a rising amount of people attending Glastonbury who wouldn't, regardless of people seeming to think that Glastonbury attendees are the height of music intellectuals

Imagine if the Stones say no... (quite plausible). From Eavis's point of view this years festival really does rely on them playing IMO. A potential trio of Arctic Monkeys / Mumford and Sons / Kanye West etc would be the one of the poorest set of headliners the festival has had. I imagine they're pinning everything at the moment on the presumption they are playing.

But then, it's not about the acts Glastonbury right?

    • It’s probably fairly easy to stay in a hotel but I much prefer the camping set up. It was pretty quiet where we camped but a longer walk to the arena but the weather was nice so not a problem. There’s also a lake you can camp by. Once we got off the tube/train we walked down the main road and turned right (festival site is left) and camped down there.    Do you think? They do have water points inside the arena & where I camped there were toilets, showers & water points super close. I think if you time it right the RiP stage is so easy to get close to the front. Second stage is decent & a like the indoor arena for bands on the 3rd stage. I think all the stages sound better than Downloads too, always had issues with the 2nd stage at Download being too quiet. Even main at some points.
