I think one artist being booked makes sense, seen as though neil has said that the stones are nowhere near being signed and could be waiting for a while, and the comments today from mick fleetwood, saying they are coming to the UK but don't know exact details as they're still sorting out dates/contracts. I am probably reading in to things too much though...

I think they will be going for Rolling Stones and Fleetwood Mac for the other two headliners. It maybe the last time either can play. But I dont think they will secure both. Knowing they can fall back on Thom Yorke, Chris Martin and Damon Albarn I dont think they will be worried :ninja:

Well if that is true, well I'm guessing (as we all are) that the one booked is the Arctic Monkeys. They seem the liklehood with gig dates etc...

Now we know that Glastonbury are going to wait as long as they possibly can for The Stones, so that is 1 of the ones that isn't booked.

I'm suprised if the article is true that there isn't that second booked.

They'll probably have fallback options ready-Blur, Mumfords, Radiohead. I really don't think its that unusual for them still to be waiting. Agree with the poster above that its probably F Mac and the Stones they're trying for, though I still have a hunch it could be Gaga

Yeah I kinda agree with you they want fleetwood and stones to play, but they probably can only book one, (I do feel however they are more into the stones), and then they are leaving the third headliner open until they have secured either fleetwood or stones? anyone think i'm onto something? Gaga has got quite a year this year with new album and all that comes with it, I do believe a glastonbury show would be great from her. But I think she may be too focused on other things.

Michael Eavis loves to tease us all, shortly after the last festival he said "2013 headliners were already booked"

That scoundrel is playing us all along, but we love it really and would have it no other way as its all part of the build up and we can rest assured it will be the best year ever anyway ;)

When he says "sorted" I think means all the possibilities sorted, not booked

for example, he probably has many acts lined up to headline, but only chooses who, on if they are up to do it/people drop out.

I'm pretty sure his intentions are...

"book the arctic monkeys, fleetwood & rolling stones, and if that doesn't work i'l ask good old Thom to headline one night, and maybe chase after blur if they're willing. Might be a good year to boost up a bands status, lets get mumfords lined up, and if daft punk come out of the cave they're living in lets sort em too, and I like that Jay-z fellow, lets get him and his protege to sign up or summin."

Then by process of elimination chooses his headliners from who can, and who can't.

I think that's how the whole thing works.

Exactly. I think Eavii should announce The Stones and say they're donating their entire fee to Cancer Research, Water Aid and Mali.

See them back out of that one.

I reckon Mick'd find a way. Also your signature just reminded me of a clueless peon at work today who insisted that he has inside knowledge confirming that The Smiths have reformed, but only for the fans and not the money, anybody who has a Johnny Marr tickets actually has a Smiths ticket. I am often intrigued at the idiotic thoughts that form inside some heads, I ponder how on earth they convinced themselves this was plausible, this is an example of one of these instances.
