Im starting to think they havent even got the headliners booked in yet..................... doesnt seem to be any positive assertiveness coming from anywhere. Stones blatantly dilly dallying about, and i would prob accept radiohead are the fall back option for them. I think if they do/have booked the arctic monkeys its a bit uninspiring, they're not exactly at the top of their game atm, and they just played all round the UK in the last 12 months maybe....?

I think this is fucking great, I love the fact it's wide open, that there's speculation. It's brilliant. Personally, I can't think of any headliners I'd definitely go and see (impossible Prince aside) but I enjoy the fact that no-one really knows and there's plenty of excitement and anticipation. It makes me excited by osmosis.

Stevie Wonder wasnt contacted til around this time in 2010 so its possible nothing firm is in place yet

2011 U2 were a shoe in because of what happened the previous year, it was an open secret Coldplay would return, but take that year out and alot of previous years we've got to this stage and knew very little

I get rather annoyed when people are banging on about Radiohead being the " fall back " if the Stones didn't happen. Maybe there are not, you don't know. If it were the case i reckon Thom should just politely say No,thanks we are not a substitute for anyone.

Emilys just started following Tony Visconti - the vague link to Bowie is there.

To some on here this is 100% confirmation he is headlining, they'll get caught up in a tide of their emotion, convince themselves its going to happen...............Only to be deflated when Sir Cliff is announced for the Saturday night :ok:

Ive just noticed theres a headline on NME.com that Matt Helders Mum is distancing Artics from Glastonbury as well. She has been known to share news a little earlier than maybe she should in the past.. Equally it could mean nothing.

Despite everything Im desperately hoping The Stones do play, something about it feels like it could be a fantastic thing. I have heard all the Stones past their best comments and understand it, but, Ive also seen them on every tour since 1990 and loved every last minute. I guess they are still making up their minds on what to do / have UK shows that might be compromised by Glastonbury if announced at the wrong time or both. I reckon at the moment its all about timing, and how late the organisers can leave it before they have to put somebody else in place. Mexican stand off!!

The main stage and other stage headliners are as up in the air at this time as I can remember and its great! Somebody mentioned earlier that as long as they post the line up in May they are happy, honestly, for me, they could hold off until I walk through the gates and I'd still have the best weekend of the year. It would be maddening but so what!

the Arctic Monkeys thing is NME spouting bullshit. somebody asked her on twitter 'are Arctic Mummies at Glasto?' and she said it was the first she'd heard of it, i.e., the first she'd heard of the mothers of Arctic Monkeys playing Glastonbury

edit: damn beaten to the punch
