@01seb - I'm with you on the stone roses. didnt understand the hype in the 90's and definately dont now.

in terms of your headliners, I think it would be very strong but I still think someone like Gaga will be one.

My preferred 3 would be Blur or Foos/Rolling Stones/Daft Punk

Although i'm just hoping to get a ticket!!

Melvin sounds pretty confident that Stone Roses aren't playing Glasto. Thank god imo, I don't like the Roses at all.

I'm thinking perhaps the Arcade Fire/Radiohead/Daft Punk trio is likely and would be Glasto's strongest bill of headliners in a long time imo.

Well Daft Punk could be the headliner that Eavis takes a gamble on next year. And I don't understand how they could play the Other Stage? They are probably the biggest electronic act on the world, would draw a massive crowd and would push the boundaries of the festival, which is what Glasto is seeming to do more of the last few years with having a 'pop' singer and a rapper headlining.

I agree that Radiohead seem a 99% chance if Stone Roses don't play. They love Glasto and Glasto loves them. 10 years since their last headline spot would be perfect.

And Arcade Fire are massive. Pretty sure most Glasto attendees would know at least 3 or so of the singles off The Suburbs + 'No Cars Go' and 'Wake Up'. They could sub at a push, only if they headliner is massive though.

I love how every year for the past few festivals people have said its... Radiohead/Rolling Stones/Daft Punk/Arcade Fire...

How do people think they are so nailed on apart from the fact they are friendly with the organisers, so are Coldplay and we don't want them every few years... I do hope radiohead play gives me a great reason to avoid the pyramid stage that night

So let's have some predictions leaving The Stone Roses out. Benn seems confident and when another promoter in Giddings for IOW came out and said they weren't doing festivals, he was dead right. Not saying they won't do fests, just saying what he said was right. You look a bit silly as a promoter to say that and be wrong.

Radiohead, Lady GaGa and The Rolling Stones is mine.

I just can't seem to justify AF, I think they'd work so much better at another fest, if Roses aren't at IOW either, AF, Green Day and Fleetwood Mac would be great for there.

The problem that you have is that the likes of Coldplay, Springsteen can fill a massive field where as Arcade Fire probably wont. In reality are Arcade Fire any better known than Queens of The Stone Age who played the Other Stage last year as a comparison?

You make your point very well. Certainly made me think.

Among the people who read/post here, AF are huge, whether they are as big a draw in the big wide world I really couldn't say myself. They are certainly big enough to headline Reading, but that is not always a qualification that a band is big enough/suitable to headline Glastonbury.

I don't think they got a massive crowd at Reading either. I'd love them to do it, and I'd love to see them (as fatyeti24 says) 'step up' but not sure. I'm still convinced it was them that Emily was complaining about in an interview a few weeks back so I'm not sure how much desire is there to make that happen

I don't think it'll be AF. When you have the chance between The Stones, The Roses, Radiohead and Lady GaGa and even The Killers, there is Arctics but I don't care haha. why would you chose AF?

My m8 went to the hyde park show where mumford supported AF and he said that a fair lot of the crowd were there for Mumford alone

First up, they may not have any of them choices! They don't just get whoever they want.

Second, that's a depressing reflection of people.

Third, I see them as sub myself but Glastonbury has taken punts in the past, Radiohead 97, Skunk Anansie 99, Muse 2004, Kylie 2005, KOL 2008. Not in the last couple of years but it doesn't have to, in fact can't be three household names every year
