The Saturday

Hey.

Can anyone recommend some bands for the Saturday?

In the day prior to Friendly Fires there is nothing that strikes me. However I am sure that there will definitely be some music on worth listening to. Never really been able to get in to the Gaslight Anthem either.

Will go and see Friendly Fires but not too bothered by the Chems/Coldplay either.

Misread this and thought it said The Saturdays. I had some cracking material lined up about lesbian shows, w*nking off in the crowd, being joined by Beyonce, woof woof, etc. Before ripping into a pointless vitriolic about their career and how they "aren't Glasto". There, that's the bases covered. Carry on.

Go check something you're pretty much guaranteed not to see anywhere else ever again. The Brandt Brauer Frick Ensemble will feature a mixture of electronics and a 12 piece chamber orchestra playing sensuous organic techno accompanied by a troupe of ballerinas. This will look and sound great. 3.15pm West Holts

personally I'd roll over and watch Stornoway while kicking back on the grass, before possibly popping down to the john peel for Yuck and then back up to the pyramid for the Gaslight Anthem who I think will kick it live. From there Coxon and the Walkmen up in the park will round out a very rocking morning. All that is follow by some tough choices between FF, Aloe Blacc, Noah and the Whale and the special guests.

Last up, White Lies are looking the favourite, followed by the Chems, but Coldplay and Elbow could tempt me on the day.

Other acts I think are worth looking at are: Krafty Kuts & Dreadzone, Diggers, and Big Bo...

Big day for me. :)

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
