Tbh I think Bloc Party would be one of the more deserving bands to be given a headline slot compared to some recent headliners.

They have three fairly successful albums with a lot of variety (try comparing SRXT to Mercury): Silent Alarm and A Weekend In The City provide the well known tunes and Intimacy provides the atmospheric experimental songs. Also, even if they played too often they, have easily proved their popularity with the R&L crowd.

Plus they'll have a 4th record out by then which they will have been working on/off with for 4 years so you'd expect it will be easy to tell if they've run out of idea or are one of those bands that are good enough to propel them to headliners. Id say the next album is make or break, if they can get 2 strong singles on it they'll be an arena band.
