I think there must be at least a slight chance. Weller said there was never any chance of reconciliation, then him and Bruce Foxton got back on speaking terms due to deaths in each persons families. One of the golden rules was never to mention The Jam, this was something Foxton said in an interview after they got back on speaking terms. After being on speaking terms for a while Weller invited Foxton to play bass on tracks on wake up the nation then invited him up on stage earlier this year at a gig to play a few Jam songs. Theres footage of it on youtube and the crowd reaction was unbelievable, you cant tell me after the reaction to that gig they havent spoken about it.

I was talking about Talking Heads when I said "it's never going to happen".

Nope. It was American but female was from a few people thinking Eavis said "trying to get HER". There was confusion as to what he said and it appears he may well not have said "her" if it's a band.

he has been quoted (was it at the end of this year's fest? I forget) tho as having said something about one of the headliners for next year being a female, which has been a part of what's been in the mix with the eFestivals considerations of who the acts might be.

But on Friday he denied to us that he'd ever said that. ;)

Weren't the headliners for 2010 supposed to be the "biggest bands in the world"?

As per usual, take what Eavis says with a pinch of salt.

While he's never going to say "they're average" () and he does say that every time....

Emily agreed with that part of what Michael had told us, while responding differently to and perhaps contradicting almost all the other things he'd said. We also made Michael laugh by saying "you always say that", to which he said something like "but they really are".

So perhaps, this time there's more substance to it (and of course it's all subjective anyway). Or Emily has got that part of the family business down to a tee. :P

Though Foo Fighters aren't anywhere near the biggest band in the world, they are very popular, probably as popular as say Muse but if we are talking the biggest bands then AC/DC, Led Zep, Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd are all much bigger.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
