Yep.

Unfortunately, Barry seems to think it's his purpose in life to talk back unknowledgeable shite to anything I might post.

I keep ridiculing him for it in the hope he'll give it up, but he seems to glory in his ignorance and deliberate lies.

Your persistence after a not-clear point has been pretty ridiculous as well.

I could charge you with exactly the same thing :) And its funny how you didn't realise how kaosmark2 was aiming that post as much as you as me :D

I did. Which you didn't realise.

What's more ridiculous?

Someone poorly arguing a point they know about, or, someone poorly arguming a point they know fuck all about?

:)

Fair enough but it makes you just as much of a c**t as them. If that is how you roll then fair play. Making false claims is pretty low and it really does make it harder for people with genuine claims.

The mass abuse of whiplash claims has made it very hard for people with real whiplash to claim as an example.

I've never made a false claim against an employer. I've always used the truth, which has served me well in the past.

I can't be certain of the situation in ferals case, but believe I have a reasonable understanding. It appears to me that the employers premesis had insufficient signage, lacked high viz edging strip(s), and, come to think of it, possibly had no handrail in an area where they possibly should have had one.

I kind of know what I'm talking about here. The last time I came across this situation I was brought in to court as the sole expert witness for the defence. It may surprise you that I was acting in defence of my employer against a claimant who said the company had been negligent. I proved to the court that not only had the company not been negligent, but that they had adhered to all necessary standards laid down by law and best practice. The result was that the case was thrown out and we 'won'.

See, I can be all nice and lovey dovey with an employer. When they are in the right, that is.

I've just received my first order off ebay for a product I thought of and created within the last five or six days ( I think!!). In my heart of hearts I suspect / know it's not going to be the start of something which actually interests me and pays the way. It is, however, something which has injected a little happiness in to my life - somone, who I don't know, actually likes something I created. Plenty of people I know have said they've admired some of the art etc that I do, but this is the first non known person to say ' Fuck it, I'm buying that '.

Then there's the thought - maybe he / she lives in a mental institute and consequently I shouldn't feel happy.

Roman Catholic guilt anyone? Said, of course, in the same manner one is suppossed to offer the Ferrero Rocher around with.

Ferrero Rocher = Christmas. Make of that what you will.

Good on you Yog.

Thanks feral.

I am, for the first time, going to put in a submission to my local art centre to see if they'll allow me to exhibit some of my art stuff. I've got all the forms etc and need to submit them within the next week, along with physical photos of the work. As i see it, it could go two ways - the first is that they either accept or don't accept. The second is that they alert the relevant authorities and have me either imprisoned or sectioned. lol

This should really be in things that ur NOT happy about - but can't find then thread.

My task yesterday was to pick up Mrs GH's mum, then her niece and take niece Rebecca from the school that she's teaching at in Caerphilly to Newport Coach Station to catch a coach to Heathrow so she could fly out to South Africa to join her husband for Christmas.

I collected Gran on time and said: "I just want to pop into Lidl's to get some Stollen cake."

Did that, but then got stuck in horrendous traffic. Result - 10 minutes late collecting Rebecca.

More horrendous traffic and result - 10 minutes late arriving at Newport station and missed the coach.

Result...... I ended up driving her 160 miles to Heathrow. (She caught the plane and is now safely in South Africa in 30 degree sun).

Turned round. Drove home at a steady 110 mph down the M4 and arrived at a family party at 9.50pm just as it was winding down.

I spent nine solid hours behind the wheel of the car, missed a lot of the party but arrived in time to help with the washing up.

All for a bloody Stollen cake.

Though mind you, you must have been on a very tight schedule.

I've just dropped in a submission to my local arts centre for them to consider for putting on an exhibition of my work sometime next year. There's probably loads and loads of people doing similar before the end of December deadline. I'm not under any illusions that it's got a better chance than any other entries, but I'm happy that I made the effort to have a shot at it anyway.

That was some Kermitment.

I'll get me coat.

 Brilliant!

I was watching the Lady Gaga Muppets special on TV on sunday, fairly odd! She didn't seem to believe she was actually interacting the muppets like other celebrities do. (If that makes sense, i do realise the Muppets are not real :P)

Finally managed to cook a CD for my daughter Lizzie for Christmas. Had to use my laptop after the burner in my desktop died.

We have wonderful occasional late nights sitting in my posh shed putting the world to rights and playing random tracks on the computer when she visits. Except they're not random tracks, there are some that come up more often than others. So Lizzie asked for a CD of Songs From Dad's Shed. And I've finally managed to burn it.

Had a family pre-Christmas party the other day, mainly built around the 10 and 12 year old daughters of one of our nieces. As a bit of fun we have a raffle. We provide silly prizes (like a tin of mushy peas or a pair of magnifying specs) and the girls sell tickets to the party goers. Usually the girls keep the proceeds but this year they volunteered: "Why don't we give the money to help ebola?"

So today I've donated their proceeds of £55 to Medcins Sans Frontiers.

Great that the idea came from two young girls who were prepared to part with the £55 they could have added to their pocket money pot.

Christmas Eve with a 4 year old. It's her last as an "only" so I've gone a bit mad and my mother's house looks like Christmas threw up on it, but it's totally awesome all the same. Snowdog, new pjs and hot chocolate coming out about 4 in the hope of a three hour wind down to bed!

I never thought I'd say this, but after 5 days of being with family constantly and being told where to go at what time constantly. I am fucking glad to be back at work for a chance to escape them!

Its also quiet at work which helps even more :P

I was actually glad t get to work today I felt really anxious at home, due to bad preparation for Christmas, and thoughtful prezzies off others.

I felt more useful in work :D

  • 2 weeks later...

Just added my third festival of the season to my calender - Chagstock (July 17-19). A lovely little festival on the edge of Dartmoor.

Still not sure about number 4 - torn between Farmer Phil's in Shrewsbury and the Green Gathering in Chepstow.

If anyone has experience of the Green Gathering, I'd be grateful for your thoughts.
