Klopp's obviously gotta win some trophies at some point. But in terms of competing for the premier or champions league, they're pretty level right now. So in the mean time I'd rather be watching exciting football from a team that is clearly progressing. Jose's conservative approach doesn't appear to have the same guarantee it did in the past.

Hmmmm, best defence in the league (with Smalling and Jones) beat Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea. 2nd best record against the top 6 this season.

I think its just City are so good to be honest.

He wouldve won the league with your resources.

He spent 110 million on Van Dijk and Chamberlain.

Carragher with Neville is sky’s most popular pundit. I wouldn’t be surprised if sky suspended him tonight, then bring him back in 2 weeks after fa Cup weekend when it’s all calmed down.

Which is exactly what they've done.

"Sky takes this matter extremely seriously and strongly condemns Jamie’s actions, we have made that clear to him in person today and suspended him from his duties.

“It falls well below the standards we expect of our people.”

"best defence in the league" ?

If other teams were after that title I doubt Utd would be the champions. :P

Actually City have the best now in terms of goal conceded. Utd have the most clean sheets. 16 from 30 games.

Fergie won loads of leagues with the best defence.

vvd is the first mega-price they've paid, and it's a bit early to rate it ... but I'm guessing it won't look dreadful by the end of the next transfer window.
(not saying it looks dreadful now, btw, just that the next round of transfer prices will probably make it look less expensive).

The Ox wasn't over-priced, and he's starting to look good value. He might even hit 'bargain'.

Not that you are hurting or anything.  :D

Serious question, how long you happy with klopps exciting football if it doesn't bring you success in the trophy cabinet?

They could win the Champions League this year no bother.

What a shout bringing Fellaini on? Tactical genius.

That was a great decision. A nightmare to play against.

Have to say I'm loving the LFC reactions to this one. First time in a while that Liverpool have been properly beaten by Utd. Just flat out beaten by a better side with a better manager. Very similar to when Liverpool beat Utd in Europe. 2nd leg in Anfield was very similar to the weekend but in reverse. Utd had more possession, Liverpool had to dig in and defend and won.

not really. It relied on hoofball and Liverpool making mistakes. It worked, and it might be a better manager (then again, he might have got lucky), but that's not "a better side".

Remember how Rangers got a to a Euro final by playing anti-football? That's you that is. :P

In all seriousness neither are as good as there fans would claim them  to be.

You got klopp who will never win the league playing the way he does, he doesn’t seem to have the nous tactically to go a bit Jose when needed.

Same goes with Jose, when at 2-0 he didn’t have the balls to go for the jugular and kill Liverpool off. Let Liverpool off and could of easily paid the price.

Niw take Pep knew city’s defence was the issue, then goes out and buys 2 new full backs, goalkeeper and Centre Back and problem solved.

Id say Mourinho had a semi when he saw "Lovren" on the team sheet. Targeting him with Rashy in behind was an easy decision. Mourinho would've been stupid not to do it. Keeping Salah quiet too isn't easy.

Speaking of solving issues, another one for Jose this summer. He needs someone who can sit in front of the defence and pass forward. Like this guy.

but he'd have done the same with Matip there instead, and Matip isn't as mobile as Lovren. Can't really see how that change would have worked out any better.

There's nothing genius in going at your opponents weakest point - and every team has a weakest point.

Most teams have more pride than Moaniho's Utd. :P

For those saying Mourinho tactically dominates Klopp, wasn't that only his 2nd or 3rd win against him - with one of those being a CL second leg consolation after a hammering in the first when at Madrid.

Maureen did what he always does. This “tactical dominance” is overblown. It was a v good win for him however.
