Ah fair enough; I was lucky enough to have good sound the whole day through but that was because I got there at doors and ran to the barrier, I heard some people were leaving early because they couldn't hear a thing though which is a real shame; I reckon Finsbury Park is going to be booked a lot more often in the future.

I don't think they will ever break up as such, since the band is pretty much Homme so he will just come and go back to it between other projects.

If they could get back the line up of Songs For The Deaf (Lanegan, Grohl, Oliveri) I could see a possible bump up.

It's no longer fit for purpose and I will be doing my very best to avoid ever going to another gig there. I wrote a huge email complaing to live nation, not that it will probably do very much. The sound was awful where I was! As I said in the Hyde Park thread, I felt like the organisers were just trying to get as many people through the door as possible for as much money as they could while doing the very least they could get away with in terms of facilities/sound and organisation.

They're seriously restricted by local regulations, so while it makes it unsuitable it's not entirely their fault. I've always found the organisation there pretty good, I can think of plenty who would shy away from putting down as much woodchip as they did for Hard Rock Calling.

Entirely their fault or not I paid £65 to see a band and I could hear people talking over the top of them all the way through the gig. If you the sound restrictions are that bad then stop hosting gigs there.

Yeah the woodchip was great for Hardrock calling, infact I had no problems getting beer or going to the toilet for Soundgarden, the same could not be said for Blur. Shocking.

Apparently the sound restrictions were worse than normal because about a few months before the Hyde Park gigs were due to start as the council (probably under pressure from the rich & powerful who live their) put more restrictions on.

There was something about in the old Hyde Park thread but Neil deleted it.
