Anyone got their plans to stay up until the 1am kick-off then? Or when it actually starts given it looks like Mexico City is in proper thunderstorm season?

I don't think it was that straight forward to play to their strengths when Paraguay's tactics seemed to just be to be the most annoying opponent possible. How Paraguay got 0 bookings is genuinely baffling.

 

Still, France v Morocco has potential to be a decent quarter final. One where I assume Morocco will be more willing to go for it rather than kicking the sh*t out of anyone within 10 metres of their box.

Paraguay probably played the only way they could have to get a win against France . Was up to the officials to be stronger and stop them.

I won't be staying up. I'm already fuming that my boss has changed the rota and put me on the phones all day. I can imagine the management meeting at the end of last week - "Let's put Ian on the phones. He's a Scotland fan, so won't be phoning in sick. He won't mind." Well guess what? I do f**king mind! 

 

For that reason alone, I want Mexico to win!

FIFA don't help themselves do they. And I say this even thinking that Balogun was unfortunate to get that red card in the first place.

Yeah I had no energy so slept through it. Went in blind before watching the YouTube highlights and looks like I missed a good match. 

 

I was aware before going to bed of Norway dumping out Brazil. Which, tbf, I did think was a credible possibility.

I remember before the World Cup hearing people say England would struggle with the Miami heat, lucky they found an opponent who will struggle more!
