A lot of us are potentially about to experience an upturn in the weather -  Or at least some kind of attempted Summer

So what are those albums that just hit different when the weather it great.

Il start with

MGMT - Oracular Spectacular

Magdalana Bay - Imagine Disk

Lana Del Rey - Norman f**king Rockwell

Hot Chip - One Life Stand

Morcheba - Big Calm

Pulp - We Love Life

BICEP - BICEP

Foster The People - Torches

Nice list, Torches is a great shout for this. I’d probably add Tame Impala - Currents as well, always feels like a proper summer album to me.

It's a compilation rather than a studio album, but this has reminded me to go back and revisit Dreadzone Presents Dubwiser Volume 1.

Controversial maybe, but I'm probably drawn more to dub than reggae in the good weather 😎

Another vote for New Order's Technique.

Brighter Day's Family, Audio Sunrise for something more modern (for an old git like me). Stumbled across them at Luna in Shangri-La last year and some nice, laid back tunes for the garden on a warm evening.

Anything Bob Marley and Linton Kwesi Johnson a personal favourite (Forces Of Victory is one that sits well with a cold cider in the garden as the sun goes down).

The sun and heat up here has finally appeared. I’ve decided  to listen to  the Cure, the Kinks  and James.  You’ve all done it, headphones on and you don’t realise you’re singing out loud for all to hear it’s Friday I’m in love😊😉❤️

I never listen to it at any other time, but I often come back to Becoming X by Sneaker Pimps when the weather is good. An album that was released in midsummer when I was too young to have any responsibilities (30 years ago!), and just brings back hazy, blissful, sun-bleached memories.

    • You do get some weird swings here and there, so... Cypress Hill?
    • It was great, but I don't know why they continue to play Wide Lovely Eyes and Rings of Saturn, which are the weakest of the tracks off both PTSA and ST. Well, I do. It's cos they're about Suzie, so he can sing what he wants. They're the low points of the set. The rest is ace.
    • I didn't this time, but I've seen them before and just because you saw both that night doesn’t mean you can compare them. The Stones were great, but.you didn't think so and you went somewhere else looking for a good time and you found it. For whatever reason you didn't like it, but you were an outlier and all the reviews said they were great.
    • Annie Lennox could be the one to unite the whole forum, nobody has a bad word to say about her, even noted curmudgeon Skip 😄 I'd probably even amble along for a bit meself, and i'm also a miserable sod
    • If the below link works - thats interesting.   While I don't particularly put much stock in that account as a source (never seen it before though, tbf), and I can pick a hole or two (see below) in what he says - the timing of it is a week before I had the Fontaines '27 stadium info (same stadium he says on there, Tottenham). The info, or part of it, matches up.   Holes I'd pick: I'd have to watch again but I THINK he says 'end of year' for Tottenham - not possible, for a number of reasons, though he's probably just got his words mixed up there. It's Summer '27, or that's what I've been told. He also says Glastonbury is/would be based on how the album does. That doesn't stack up to me, unless it was a 2028 thing. I suppose that could stack up, i.e a verbal agreement for 2028, but still seems a bit of an odd approach. I would personally still expect it to be 2027 alongside the stadium gigs, IF they are gonna do it, though I've still not got a Scooby when the album is gonna drop, only that the tour is due for Spring (or early) next year.   Interesting, nonetheless.   https://www.instagram.com/reel/DaOB3Q9qkwW/
