2026 line-up speculation

This far out you won’t know the clashes with confidence unless they are both headliners. People pull out, additions are made, secret sets crop up.

If you really want to see someone, prioritise seeing them at the first opportunity or see them on their own tour. Honestly, there’s so many occasions where I’ve had two or more chances to see someone and haven’t managed it because neither slot works out. Just part and parcel of festivals.

Nah, the EOTR day splits are pretty reliable for predicting clashes (not total confidence of course but enough) as they have a template they follow and pull outs are rare. I've been going for donkey's years.

I am attending a festival next week which has about 10 of the same acts.

Is it really that difficult to understand that if I know the EOTR clashes ahead of it, I can make better decisions as to who to see?

Yeah, I guess I don't see my experiences of live music as optimising every moment and decision. Nor spending my spare time posting fairly frequently about them, with dates of previous years' releases. Seems to get you worked up about something you have no control over

God, I wish some day I could be the perfect human you so clearly are!

Although hold on, what’s this?

Something you posted (checks notes)… this afternoon;

Whoever put Ethel Cain and TITR on at the same time will feel my wrath”

You seem to get worked up over something you have no control over and even want to optimise every moment! You’re human after all, phew!

I would point out there's a big difference between annoyance at a choice (with tongue fairly in cheek) and what I said before, but since you're scraping through my posting history for weak sauce like that, your head's clearly gone so I hope you get the day splits soon and they bring you the comfort you crave x

"Cmon with the day splits!!" was what I had written, which was also jovial and 'tongue fairly in cheek' if you want to go down that route.  And I didn't have to "scrape through your posting history" It was your immediately previous comment from today! x

The line up is pretty much final. They already have more acts announced then they did last year. And they also removed all the "more to come" on their marketing. Don't think speculating on music makes sense.

The only thing to speculate about left is the day splits! And the headliner of course.

As already mentioned, acts will cancel. It is interesting to know who is around. A Mandy, Indiana replacement is not unrealistic and I'm all for it.

    • I see, well even if they aren't on sale it's still not a disaster sales wise, it's not like they are struggling to sell a half capacity areana
    • Blue dot wouldn’t be a thing if Ticketmasters dynamic pricing went down as well as up, it proves that the dynamic pricing was just a scam to make more money rather than something that moved with the market supply/demand.
    • I agree that we’ll never really know up until the concert happens (and even then we still may not know) but I think promoters are having to come up with new tactics to combat ‘blue dot fever’ (already hating that phrase!) and trying to imply that concerts are selling better than they actually are / available tickets are in short supply is definitely one of them.    To add though, it is quite common at the O2 Arena for the rear blocks to not go on sale (and then remain closed for the concert and covered over to hide the empty seats). And equally common for standing to sell out first, then side/lower tier seating next and rear/upper tier seating last.    Jungle’s two concerts at the O2 are a good comparison for this - for their 1st (announced) date, all blocks are on sale and seats in all sections remain unsold, whereas for their 2nd date, the rear blocks are greyed out (more so than for Muse) and equally lots of seats remain unsold in the blue blocks. Standing for both concerts are showing as sold out.
    • MGK can and should headline. I was at one of his shows earlier in the year as a very casual fan, and there were a lot of alt people there. The show was actually class and he completely won me over. Anyone who opposes him headlining is just a gatekeeper imo, we need to move with the times.
    • Ultimately Glasto is just part of the festival circuit, however special we may think it is. The vast majority of its headliners have done many others
