I’m 21 and I barely know any of the acts that are not well known already, I guess not listening to Radio 1 might have something to do with it but idk anymore

Yeah, that's it for me. Can't see myself ever returning tbh. Since Covid they've chopped and changed the format that many times with no real success (bar, maybe, 2022. Seem to remember that being sold out). Sad to see what was Festival Republic's flagship event like this but hey ho

Looking at the Reading lineup, I only know 27 acts and two of those are the children of really famous people.

There are a lot of DJ's on that line up, most of them very new and up and coming.

 

I also had a look, and there is a LOT of crossover with Creamfields with those acts too.

Btw the day splits are on Ticketmaster and acts like Speed, Viagra boys, Jane Remover are all on the Saturday

There's still somehow enough on the lineup for me to go to Leeds, Reading would be a no.

 

I usually only see around 5-7 acts a day anyway as I stay in hotel and travel in, there's just about enough for me to go if I get a cheaper ticket nearer the time, I like all six headliners. But there's no doubt it's somehow an even worse lineup than last year. Not sure how well Leeds ticket sales are doing but judging by social media Reading is actually doing well? Which has surprised me because people voted with their feet last year, it was dead at Leeds.

The Chevron did have a roof at Reading last year, they didn't bother doing the same at Leeds. Maybe they're going to do that this year. The way the acts are divided on the poster makes me think that's the three main stages of music.

Yeah Warehouse will be new - due to how the poster is theres clearly still Chevron. There's bigger dance names than the warehouse that must be on Chevron (or another second stage).

Had some of the best times of my life at Reading in 2014 and 2016. Massive shame.

I think the extra special guests are to try and make up for the Kasabian show, doesnt make much sense though since it punishes day ticketers

Ok but then my question is, whats gonna happen with set times? Surely Leeds will have longer gaps if we are missing a mainstage act etc

They didn't last year looking at the camp site and arena!

Surely the GCSE parents (down South!) are the only ones buying weekend tickets this year though.  While the headliners seem popular they're pretty diverse, even on the same day, I can't see people going and hanging about for 4 days with the rest of whats on

i genuinely dont think its that bad, if it wasnt r&l i'd have been tempted to go. not ideal leeds don't get gunna, prospa or chris stussy but ah well.

Tbf there's been a few times over the years where if they'd just put the bands I'd want to see on the same day, I would've forked out the high price they want to get people in the door. 2023 with The Killers & Foals is an example off the top of my head.

 

But yeah. There's still that ploy of trying to get people to splash on the whole thing without stopping to think if putting them all on one day might actually help with ticket sales.

Tbf, I've heard people say he's not terrible. So there's that. And at least there seems to be a more focused approach than his brother's antics of trying 14 careers then marrying Mark Wahlberg's daughter from Transformers 4 and deciding her billionaire dad's trust fund money is the guiding light to follow.
