second headliner

As in the Other? She'd pack it out based on current metrics - a crush almighty, one would presume.

That being said, I cannot quite tell how much her appeal has made over here. I know she's big - I just don't know if she's big like she is in America. Hard to gauge without those festival slots doing stupendous crowd numbers.

No I meant she's the second headliner at Reading

Friday - Little Simz / Sam Fender

Saturday - Oasis

Sunday - Florence

Can't see them booking Fender and Oasis for the same joint, and there's a big question if the latter will even make it to 2027. I'd assume once their own shows are cleared in 2025, there will be some festival dates in 2026 but not too many.

Little Simz one I had forgotten about despite the mahoosive crowd she had this year. An oversight there - hope she doesn't drop off in the interim too much.

Little Simz kind of really deserves it - While im sure some would say she is not big enough - every step up so far she has absolutely smashed.  Her last few albums the quality has been so consistently hight.   She won over a lot a Coldplay crowd this year that really was not her normal demo.

It would be absolutely fantastic for someone who's career has grown up the festival to get the nod. It would be Special.

Not sure what stage she first played but she was around on some very small slots in Silver Hayes 10 or so years ago

The xx need to come back first, but not opposed to it.

They have been in the studio a week a month for a little while now (from Jamie's recent Zane Lowe interview). Obviously he is out on the road for his own thing now but I can easily see them getting the album out in good time for a 2027 headline slot from it.

They won't headline. Will always be a strong option to sub/headline Other whenever they're about, though.

    • Plenty of good stuff this month. Very difficult choice, but I'm going with some of those I've listened to most (the sunny weather may also have been influential)...   1. The Coral - 388 2. Kurt Vile - Philadelphia's Been Good to Me 3. The Lemon Twigs - Look For Your Mind!   Others I've been enjoying... Laurie Anderson's live album, Broken Social Scene, Pigeon, The Black Keys, etc
    • Yesterday was was Primavera is all about and a reminder of why I come back every year. I saw 9 acts, very diverse in terms of genre and vibe, and most of them were great.  Highlights:   The Cure - have wanted to see them for years. Finally caught them and it was immaculate. Robert Smith's vocals at his age are incredible. The band sounded exactly like the albums which is impressive. 2.5 hours with basically no filler somehow.  Viagra Boys - what a front man! So much energy. Non stop moshing. Sound was great, vibe was top notch. Again 10/10 for me.  Rilo Kiley - basically what pipan said. Not a huge crowd but nice vibe, good sound. Different from the other acts I saw.   I also enjoyed the late night electronic stuff with Aurora Halal and KI/KI being fun. Caught some of Skrillex before Aurora Halal and it was cool in it's own way but not really my thing so we left.
