I had a plan of jumping on the tram well before the masses. Looks like that's out of the window with tram works, unless I'm missing something - Bury line only going from Market St or Victoria - that'll be an absolute zoo

I didn’t think it was even going to market street at the moment. Some are running via exchange square but I’m not sure if the bury ones are.

There's a group of about 20-25 of us going down on coach to Wembley, we did similar for Liam's Knebworth show which was a special day.

Having seen the reviews, I get the feeling that this time round may be something never to be topped.

I've booked the shuttle bus … goes from the Northern Quarter (starts at 1.30pm it says) and drops you back at Shudehill.  Think it’s going to be carnage though, especially on the way back!

Still no set times for the weekend?

I’m hoping to jump on a tram from Victoria around 3.30, is that likely to be a nightmare then from what’s been said on here?

I would have thought people will be steadily trickling in at different times, its getting out that will be the bigger issue.

Cool, I’m resigned to walking back really, hopefully flag a cab as we get closer to the centre.

I know 4 people who went to the Cardiff gig.

All of them said it was the best gig they’ve ever been to.

I was OK with not getting a ticket, but my feelings are changing…

Yeah, I wasn't particularly bothered about missing out at the time. Seen them loads in the past, and the last couple of times the band and the crowd were just awful. But after seeing the vids from Cardiff, know I'm going to be missing out on something special.

We are going to be getting a tram around that time from Deansgate Castlefield. There might be something in going backwards to go forwards if you can, you'll get on easier

I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with it as the days go on, I'm gonna bit a state on Saturday.

Much like the Roses - I didn't really crave it... until it happened. Now I can't stop grinning

I'm going to be an emotional wreck on Saturday.... I very very much craved it, and was constantly being told it would never happen. I was too poor to go see them first time around, well too young really in 1995, at 12, but too poor in later years. I've deliberately refused to see either of them alone over the years, despite many opportunities at festivals etc, always stating that I'd wait for the reunion, and always being told I was stupid and it was never going to happen.

Well it IS happening, and I couldn't give a sh*t what other people think of them, it's going to be epic.

Everyone I’ve spoken to has said they’ll head to Heaton Park on the tram 3/4ish, I think that’ll be peak chaos time but hopefully the trams can cope.

I've booked the shuttle bus on the Bee Network app... No idea what I'm doing really, but apparently it runs from 1:30pm from Lever Street so was thinking I'd head to the bus stop around 2pm.

I’m doing ticket scanning and gates are at 3 you will have a little wait if you catch the bus then.

Thanks. I figured there'd be long queues for the shuttle, so wouldn't actually be 'getting on' the bus at 2pm.

Will keep that in mind though, and if the shuttle is less busy than I planned, find a bar near there to wait a little longer. 🙂 Thanks.

Just a heads up, No Bury line between Exchange Square and Victoria, so not sure this plan will work

    • Another one from Sheffield DocFest this weekend, Earth Wind & Fire docu, directed by Questlove. Sensational archive footage, contributions from band members, family, plus a lot of very big fans (Stevie, Lionel, Flea, the Obamas) and a warts n all assessment of the genius / flawed human being that was Maurice White. Also, I never realised he started out as a jazz drummer with Ramsay Lewis. Well worth a watch.
