Quick question to anyone who went or is going to Cardiff …. did anyone use the Ticketmaster transfer?  My daughter bought the tickets for us so they are in her Ticketmaster account and need to be transferred over to me.  They are still showing with the transfer button greyed out.  I’m assuming this will change later in the week (going on Friday) but just wondered if anyone used this or had any issues for Cardiff?  Ta x

Can’t say for Oasis but when I did similar for Incubus at the 02 - I bought one ticket but my wife went - I had an email saying it was ready to transfer about 24 hours before the gig. Logged in and it was no longer greyed out and easy to transfer in seconds.

Fair play to the boys. They’ve come out and put on a concert that will go down in history. Made every rock/pop band that’s come along in the last 16 years look totally bang average. Walked off that stage like the British music gods they are, whilst saying to this new generation “that’s how you fu**ing do it”

Knebworth is the obvious one because it’ll make them more £££££££, is logistically easy (Noel gets the helicopter home whilst fans spend 9 hours getting out the car park) and they don’t need to do anything special because it’s another trip down memory lane for the fans.

Glastonbury doesn’t tick any of those boxes

Stayed away from the setlist. Other than Ive been told it's "Early stuff"

Re Glastonbury / or 2027 in general. Thry have enough hits to do a much varied setlist, to keep the tours fresher. As much as old tunes can be fresh - but you know what I mean.

GnR for example are just playing the same tunes.

I wouldnt bet on them doing 27, but they might just do the festival circut that year.

FWIW, the setlist says "v5".

That could be a fifth iteration - or one of five (or more) then intend to rotate.

With 1.5m watching the pay to view Black Sabbath live-stream tonight you really have to wonder how much money the Oasis brothers could have raised either for themselves or charity by doing a similar thing last night. They'd have 10x as many viewers at least surely?

Charity… Haha. Hahaha.

There is only one reason (several permutations of which exist) as to why they would ever do this, and here we are.

Name one rock/pop band that’s come on the scene from 2009 that’s even come close to putting on a show like that?

Only if - from the video I saw - you count putting on a show as standing around looking miserable while the crowd drowns you and sings along because they know the songs, playing nothing from your more recent albums and having minimal staging. They put on a sing-a-long you'd expect from a pub band just in a bigger venue not a stadium show they should be putting on for the prices they're charging.

Exactly.

But fair play to them for this https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ce9xr92yr8xo

Went to Cardiff last night, one of the best gigs i've ever been to - they sounded great and the set list was all killer. Liam has stopped doing that annoying move away from the mic and the whole band seemed on good form - great to see Bonehead with them again.

The overall vibe in the multi-generational crowd was amazing and we had a great time dancing and singing with loads of different people. The atmosphere was as good as any big gig i've been to including many classic pyramid headliners.

Superb night out and fair play to them for doing it this well - yes it's a big cash grab with merch stalls everywhere (including in the GA pitch section!) but also a fantastic show and well worth what we paid to get in. Now trying to find some tickets for Wembley...

Yes the Ticketmaster transfer worked fine for Cardiff...they enabled it while I was at Glastonbury I think, so just over a week before the show.

Went to Cardiff night 1, and exactly the same review. 👏

Was in Cardiff for the gig last night. Biblical, as the man himself might say. Going hard on the first two albums was the right choice and the ridiculously loud crowd lapped it up. Don't think I've heard Liam Gallagher sound as good in a long time.

A mate there said same, particularly re his voice. Suspect it may be a bit more worn by the time I get to see them in Sep😀

Judging by how quickly he was whisked out of the place as soon as the gig ended, I'd say he's on best behaviour and rest duty until this one's over! Was surprised by how much I loved it. It'll be a ripper of a tour all the way through.

I was there on night 1, i love Oasis have seen them before but they are nowhere near my favorite band. However i have never seen anything like what Friday served up, the whole city was glorious chaos before. The atmosphere in the stadium was electric and for 2 hours the whole place went berserk it was insane. I've been so emotional since seeing any of it back, feel very very lucky to have witnessed it! The band sounded so tight i was beyond impressed, Liams vocal superb and Noel on lead was mesmerizing at times. Roll on Wembley in a few weeks to do it all again!

Not to sure where you’re getting the standing around looking miserable bit from but fair enough.

by what metric would you consider them a “pub band” they’ve just sold out record tour numbers and had a crowd that probably includes 3 generations of people singing every word to 23 of their greatest hits over a 2 hour a bit set list. But hey if you want backing tracks and fireworks for a “stadium show” then wait for the 1975 or Taytay to tour.

The video stream I watched was them standing around looking miserable during the songs they performed.

I wasn't referencing them as a pub band in terms of success but in terms of their performance aesthetic. Just standing there leading sing-a-longs like a pub cover band only difference being they're performing their own songs. There was nothing I would consider as a stage show, it just seemed like they haven't moved with the times.

They’re music is what people go to see them for and judged by the amount of tickets they sell and critique response to these shows they really don’t have to move with the times.

again, going back to my point any act you can think of that’s come along since 2009 that can put a show on like that?

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
