They want Zelensky out, and someone more Putin/Trump friendly I guess...and it's quite possible they'll get what they want.

They can’t force elections fortunately but this seems to be the plan . Destabilise further but while the war continues that won’t happen . Guess the problem is that without the US Ukraine likely falls

Why was it filmed? It felt like such a setup. And they just shouted over Zelensky the whole time. Ridiculous stunt.

I mean, they filmed with Starmer and Macron when those two made their visits to Washington this week. So I can assume the filming was just standard procedure rather than expecting the way it went.

I haven't watched the footage but assume John Oliver and/or Jon Stewart will be using it as a piece for discussion in their next shows so I'll probably end up seeing bits of it by default.

Lots of European leaders coming out in support of Zelensky and Ukraine... nothing from Starmer yet...

I guess you saw this already...

Although for some context from Grok, Dubinsky, previously a member of Zelensky’s party but expelled in 2021 due to investigations for tax evasion and ties to oligarch Ihor Kolomoisky, has a history of opposing Zelensky, adding complexity to the political crisis unfolding in Ukraine.

Of course there will be some opposition to Zelensky from within Ukraine...but this particular person seems to be a bit dodge.

Or maybe that one was filmed in order to justify to Zelensky that it's the done thing 🤔

no they always do that, they meet, then do a short oval office thing where they talk and then take a few questions from select jourmalists, then they do a proper meeting and lunch etc, then later proper press conference thing.

Zelensky on his way to London and there's a summit thing tomorrow. What the hell happens next god knows...ceasefire seems unlikely but maybe something can be done. Zelensky shouldn't have gone to US, if Macron or whoever advised him to go then that was a mistake; and Zelensky should have done better on holding back and just taking the shite from Vance/Trump and then seen what he could get in any deal. But, that does not excuse Trump and Vance, that was an appalling way to treat him and Ukraine..and going forward US can no longer be treated as a friend and an ally...so f**k that state visit, whatever with tariffs, f**k'em.

Do people actually think Europe will do anything? I think we will see alot of posturing with very little action from European leaders which means Zelensky will eventually have to sign Trumps deal. I would think he will go into exile straight afterwards.

Have to see what comes out of this summit..in long term they will probably have to do more, in short term though they can't fill the gap left of US stops arms shipments, and a ceasefire isn't going to happen without US driving it...so yeah he either signs or stands down and someone else does.

No, you can't just say that about Trump. What he says and what he does are often very different. Making knee jerk decisions based on his very fickle words would be a mistake.
