Judging by my twitter feed alot of the U.K appears to feel the same way.

I know it hasn't come to it yet but I do wonder how well support for Ukraine will hold up the more we get involved.

Ok..but at same time maybe your twitter feed doesn't represent a lot of the UK.

From the surveys I've seen its about 16% would be willing to sign up and fight.

I see Peter Mandelson has got in some bother saying Zelensky should shut up and sign up to Trump's plan...but way I see it is he is part of that so called bridge but closer to the US side. Eventually Europe are going to have to speak with one voice, and landing zone seems to be Ukraine loses Donbas and Crimea but gets some security guarantees from France/UK with some sort of backstop from US. A lot of problems with that though..the fact that Russia wins some land through aggression, and then how security and funding works. Bigger picture is NATO, if US not going to adhere to article 5 what's the point..here you go Russia have Lithuania etc.

well not sure if we're talking conscription or anything, not yet anyway...but there will be more money spent on defence, and that money will have to come from somewhere, more likely tax, so I can see that upsetting people more in the future rather than the fear of actually being sent to Ukraine to kill Russians.

Those surveys are people assuming it'd be in the Middle East in some mad war of conquest again. I think you'd get a different view if it was for Ukraine, especially after continuing to be told Russia is coming to take over all of Europe over and over again for a few months.

Put that completely reasonable documentary back on air

They should air it but stick a bunch of disclaimers or whatever on it....but I recommend this for a some context...which shows some of the many complications and nuances with it all, that there are reasonable people trying to find a way through but always extremists on both sides ready to f**k it up...and that Netanyahu really is a massive bulshitting c**t.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
