Pitbull is touring Europe and finishes his tour on the 28th June in Oslo... do we think he could be on the bill?! He's gone viral super recently and think he would be a really popular nostalgia act

Won't be Gaga on the Saturday. Doesn't work for Neil Young's dates and schedules.

Fender and Gaga after several months of The 1975 and Olivia Rodrigo is objectively amusing, mind you.

I thought it was already announced Neil Young was coming on Saturday following whatever that "I'm not going... ok I'm going" thing was.

Officially, no, but I think it was generally assumed he would be based on the other info we'd been bouncing around.

This rubber-stamps it, and with Rodrigo's BST show on the Friday, basically confirms that if she's playing, she'll do the Sunday.

It has been pointed out that doing so would make it three on the bounce for her - she plays Manchester on the Monday and Tuesday. That, if anything, might be where the doubt creeps in - while she's likely young enough that such a stint would be no problem, the Guts Tour doesn't appear to have played more than two nights on the trot anywhere.

That's the modicum of doubt I've had for Rodrigo. Theoretically, I cannot see an issue unless she really doesn't want to do three on the trot - and as it is, her Glastonbury set would probably be like Billie Eilish, in a truncated version of their own tour with reduced staging and run-time to an extent.

All this chat about Rihanna and Gaga and what not - if it is a replacement, I've been assuming it would be in lieu of Rodrigo.

I'm kinda unconvinced by Gaga & Rihanna tbh and still think it'll be Rodrigo on Sunday, even if it is odd to have those two re-scheduled Manchester shows as the two days directly after that slot. Still, stranger things have happened. The reduced stage show is less of a concern because she's playing a bunch of European festivals that presumably have the same requirements.

Is it just me or has Emily Eavis been really quiet this year? I'm sure she pops up on some random podcast or radio station before the poster.

Same last year really, just the appearance on Sidetracked, then the thing with Oxfam (I think?). She seems to have really dialed it down over the last few years.

Probably because every time she speaks publicly her every word is dissected and misrepresented multiple times over.

It strikes me that she treats social media as an unfortunate inconvenience that she feels she has to entertain every so often because if she doesn’t, there are enough gobshites out there to fill the void. It’s less than ideal.

Would like to see the festival abandon X, mind you.

Thank God for that

Oh, a festival that has artists youre wishing would play glasto? Yeah, such a bad thing. And it wont rain at least. And when its hot theres air conditioned tents cause they care about peoples safety from the heat. And they have good sound and production values? So when people are yapping in the back it doesnt matter? Yep, the worst thing to have.

Gaga is doing coachella and a free show on the beach in Rio in May

Billie eilish played coachella and glasto in 2022

Billie was a replacement in 22 for both festivals. Has zero bearing. And again, I dont think Glasto can pull off the production stuff she would want or foot the bill for it.

Yeah, exactly. I don't think the staging will be a stumbling block.

In a month we'll see what she has for a festival production anyway for Lolla south america. Whats gonna be the concern. The show has to be retooled and likely shorter than it was. Itll be a nice 90 mins as opposed to her hour 45 cause the flying moon section has to be cut out. Prob throws a cover in there.

Do you still have to go to a designated cattle pen to have a drink?

    • Yesterday was was Primavera is all about and a reminder of why I come back every year. I saw 9 acts, very diverse in terms of genre and vibe, and most of them were great.  Highlights:   The Cure - have wanted to see them for years. Finally caught them and it was immaculate. Robert Smith's vocals at his age are incredible. The band sounded exactly like the albums which is impressive. 2.5 hours with basically no filler somehow.  Viagra Boys - what a front man! So much energy. Non stop moshing. Sound was great, vibe was top notch. Again 10/10 for me.  Rilo Kiley - basically what pipan said. Not a huge crowd but nice vibe, good sound. Different from the other acts I saw.   I also enjoyed the late night electronic stuff with Aurora Halal and KI/KI being fun. Caught some of Skrillex before Aurora Halal and it was cool in it's own way but not really my thing so we left.
    • Dream Blink day    Blink - Turnstile - Neck Deep - The Story So Far
    • The vibe for Avalanches was spectacular, but i totally understand not wanting to wait in a queue for however long it was.   I had to miss Ethel Cain to queue. Bit annoying, but I had never seen the Avalanches before (either live or DJ set) and it was every bit as joyful as I hoped.   Great little stage, either way.
