Sorry slightly of topic - but just watched the HT superbowl show - thought it was superb.   Still feel KL was underrated at Glastonbury.

Prob cause it was Sunday night. Still a lot of fun and even being 75 minutes it still felt a lot longer. It was a nice way for me to see the show without dropping a bundle on the Big Steppers tour and it was unique anyway.

Ending up in a sh*t spot for 2023 AM is one of my biggest Glastonbury regrets.

Left Fred Again far too late and my mates were not game from making a solid effort for the pit. I should have done it solo, on reflection.

I can see why it split opinions, also the laryngitis stuff in the lead up.

Whilst I was hoping for an old tune to kick it off like a lot of the UK tour dates, Sculptures was pretty iconic.

Probably in a tiny minority but I think AM is genuinely one of the worst albums ever recorded.

Humbug / Tranquillity are both ace, WPSIAM / The Car are pretty good too.

Tiny minority? You wish! I hear people all the time saying they never heard anything worse than AM album. And some people only heard something better one or maybe two times in their lives

I think there's a definite division in the Arctic fanbase between those that think AM is their best album and those who place it as their worst.

Lol .. my biggest regret that year is the exact opposite to yours - I really wish I hadn't left Fred early as he was great.  I got right into the middle of the pit for AM and still thought it was very poor - not worth rushing over from Fred at all.

Kendrick’s Glasto set is the best headliner performance I’ve ever seen.

In fact it’s my favourite set of all time.

10/10 perfection.

Better than the half time super bowl show I'd hope.

Kendrick & SZA co-headline tour. Two Glasto headliners for the price of one there.

Old Kendrick needing SZA somehow to do the tour

Very much so but that's your opinion. I'm no doubt that TH and The Car are two of the worst albums at least in the genre of indie rock ever recorded. I'd put Humbug just above SIAS purely because it has one of my favourites of their on it. It's also very clear that AM brought them back and saved them as a band. They sales for AM at a time when streaming was around are crazy.

But my opinion doesn't have to be yours.

Pulp... Still at Pyramid headliner status, or more in the sub/Other conversation?

Nope. Sub or Other headliner. They aren't going to headline Tramilines and headline Glastonbury as well.

I think they could've been a Pyramid shout in their first reunion in 2011. Now, more of a sub or other imo.

I think it partly depends on whether Glastonbury are going to acknowledge this as the 30th Anniversary of the legendary 1995 festival.  If they are, then Pulp would make sense as a Pyramid or Other headliner.  Lots of other bands from the 1995 line-up are at least being rumoured, so you never know.  I think if the 1995 festival is to be commemorated then this is the year to do it - no point waiting for 40th anniversary, sadly.

Sometimes, if you have a huge fan and have seen them live before or obsessively watch videos of their live shows, it can have an "... eh, it's fine but it's not blowing my socks off" feeling to it. I'd felt that with Muse's 2016 and Arctics' 2023 sets at Glastonbury - still decent performances, but not really bringing anything new to the table that we didn't know already.

Maybe we're the guilty parties for giving Glastonbury a feeling of being a unique big must-see event show or something I dunno.

With you on Arctic Monkeys. I’ve seen them 23 times right from the beginning and it was one of the worst.

I seen them in Sheffield a fortnight before and that was 🔥🔥🔥 tho

I went on the Friday and A Certain Romance is something that will stay with me forever.

Mesmerised (and may have shed a tear).

My only regret for leaving Sheffield, I have missed so many AM gigs! I have seen them about 8 times including the early days at The Grapes + 1 time just stood at the back door of The Plug to hear them!

I am from the same north Sheffield area as them and have (non music related) hearing loss. I loved it when they came on the scene that I still heard and understood their lyrics! They will always be my boys!  ❤️😂

So then Oasis is in the frame lol

Pulp are probably not quite in the act that get booked Pyramid Stage headliner  level anymore - (despite there immense quality of live show)

BUT -  should one of the three headliners pull out and a replacement act be needed......  No one better to step up as they blatantly could nail a headline slot along with a reasonable sized crowd - and perhaps should that happen it would be an even more fitting tribute to 1995.

    • Had a lovely day in Prague now off to the festival. Very excited hope we all have fun regardless of weather!!
    • Iran are winning. If US aren't going to do the full invasion thing, then they may as well admit defeat and do what is needed to get the strait opened. Iran obviously have decided they can take any pain and stick it out as they have all the cards with this Hormuz thing. But obviously Trump can't admit defeat, and Israel just want this to keep going...and maybe it will carry on like this till after elections in both US and Israel towards the end of this year. God knows how the global economy will be by then.
    • All kicking off in N Ireland, all aided and abetted on videos that get circulated on social media and Elon Musk and Tommy Robinson telling people to take to the streets. Social media needs regulating same as publishers, if they have algorithms that push whatever to people then they are effectively publishers anyway. The problem is just going to get worse and worse.
