Last minute ticket refund

Hi,

 

Due to a change in my wife’s circumstances (medical, she’s still desperate to come), she has decided it isn’t sensible/feasible to come next weekend. Does the festival ever do last minute refunds?

Who would I contact?

Don't think so. Best bet is to try and sell it to a lookalike. I had success on here (in terms of both sale and entry) doing the same.

Sadly not - unless you took out the ticket insurance and it met their criteria then unfortunately no chance of a refund. I hope your wife feels better soon 🙁

If you took out ticket insurance you’ll be able to claim off that. I hope your wife gets better soon!

Hmmm. I had considered selling but we have coach tickets which makes it slightly trickier. 

We did not opt for the insurance… the chance of us pulling out (we thought) was about 0%!

It is a coach ticket - benefits is I guess you know it’s real, and you can enter with us, however, you do need to be somewhere south at 6am on Thursday …

Won't help if it's just because "it isn’t sensible/feasible" to go. Need a doctor's note saying you're "unable" to go.

I’d contact the accessibility team. They may be able to help with medical needs at short notice depending on the illness.

OP still said it's medical though.  (Good) GPs will happily write you a note for this even if you're technically still able to go - I've done this before, twice, with absolutely no issues, and both times I had nothing more than some sniffles and stress.

Nah. It's a waste of cash.

Even if I had to give up my Glastonbury ticket tomorrow, I'd still lose far less than the amount I've not spent on insurance over the years.

I had this ticket and the person I’m meant to be using has just bailed on me cause they can’t be bothered to sort it out and would rather lose the £400 ha

NHS postcode lottery. For huge swathes of the nation you wouldn't even be able to get a GP appointment in a couple of days to talk about the possibility of a letter.

Whilst I'm sure you're already aware, and I'm not suggesting for one minute that the people who've joined this forum just to comment on this thread asking for your ticket aren't genuine, be wary of scams - it's not just fake ticket seller scams doing the rounds, often buyers can be trying to scam too - whether paying with fake cash, dodgy bank/Paypal payments that are reversed, stolen money, spoofed paper trails of payments that don't exist etc. etc.

Be careful, hope you manage to get rid of it and that your wife is soon on the mend.

Yeah not to question the legitimacy of anyone who joined up and posted - forums like these always tend to have more lurkers than active posters - but since I did suggest this first I will say that I sold mine to an established poster here.

If selling/buying - friend on fb - it’s a good way to check both the physical likeliness and a basic scan of the legitimacy of the seller/buyer.

Didn’t look like it was worth the paper it was printed on, basically have to be dead, dying or hospitalised. 

The amount of times I’ve skipped it now, I’d still be ‘up’ if I had to loose out one time.

You couldn't be more wrong. Try actually reading the terms of the insurance. And then running some basic slterbetivr calculations including self insurance. 

Buying ticket insurance is for mugs and has one of the highest margins in the industry.
