Michaels involvement

Just wondering what Mr Eavis gets up to these days with the festival? Obviously Emily has taken up the reigns and Melvin Benn's back behind the scenes (or at least was last year) and there's a whole team of producers, managers etc etc running various areas.

Reckon he still does much? Does he even drive around in his red landcover these days? 

Can't believe he's approaching 90!

his last public appearance was in a wheelchair so I imagine mobility might slow him down/reduce his appearances this year

I was the first to arrive at Worthy View camping in 2021 and I met him, he actually escorted us to the site and to our tent. He was such a nice guy but wasn't really interested me meeting me. He wanted to talk to my 2 girl-friends that I was with haha.

I met him last year up at the Park.  He was being driven by someone else in a modern 4x4.

We saw him do just that last August when we visited the site. He smiled and waved. Absolute legend.

Met him in the village one year when I was having a mooch around there. Chatted to him as he walked to his mates for tea. 

A special moment but not so easy mid festival.

Wasn't aware of this. Very sad to hear. He's the same age as my mum and a "joke" of mine has always been that if he can gallivant around at that age then why can't she? (Arthritis is the answer).

He's always looked way younger than his years. I think this year might be a reality check to us all that's he's 87!

hes doing well, when i started efests 25 + years ago i thought i'd better have an obit written ready - just-in-case, glad i never needed it.

About 5 years ago now but I bumped into him at 3am in shangri la once. He was absolutely lovely. Incredibly friendly.
