As I was typing my message I was thinking this.

I am meeting a friend this morning { flying in from Iceland } so I don't have time to deal with e-mails but I know by tonight my inbox will be insane from
a large pool of Volunteers { some who have been with me 30+ years } and I know many other Organisers will be in the same boat - 100% this will affect the allocation for everyone so I expect the 2023 allocation will be a 50% reduction from the 2022 allocation and I suspect many Groups will miss out completely next year. So good news if you have a ticket but bad news for Volunteers.

An 0800 announcement is unusual I think...maybe Emily thought 'There's no way this bloke will keep his trap shut' after she told us in Frome last night 😂

What's interesting is that her and Nick seemed genuinely surprised when we said we'd worked it out from the Pyramid rocket picture....her exact words were 'Wow, well done!'.

Perhaps the webcam reveal didn't actually get the attention they hoped it would.

Must admit I was gutted to miss the reveal, I look at the webcam everyday as I’ve nothing better to do!  Visiting  the area pre  Xmas and I’m sorely tempted to set off a rocket at the pyramid but I won’t, festival no pyro rules forbid it and i don’t want to scare the cows😉😊

Incredible scenes - what an unbelievable booking😁🤩

Imo Elton John and Fleetwood Mac are the two biggest that haven’t played yet and they have only gone and landed one of them this year!

Soooo excited for this one.  What a time to be alive 😁

Madonna is in that bracket too

Are you still going to go?

Tempted to sell my tickets for April now as they basically cover most of the cost of Glasto tickets.

Yeah I'll still go in April.

As I said in the other thread I'll have the kids with me at Glasto and can't guarantee they won't be knackered and grumpy by Sunday night. Best to watch Elton in April for the music and then be at the back of the Pyramid field for the vibe.

Come on, she’s a mega star in the same bracket as Elton.

The reaction to her being announced would be in the same ballpark, but barring a miracle she’d lose the crowd very quickly. No chance that happens with Elton, or would’ve happened if The Mac had played.

Exactly - that's why I left her out of that bracket, even though she is a legend

    • Yesterday was another brilliant day of music for me. Some highlights:  My Bloody Valentine - absolutely loved it! Maybe my main festival highlight. I felt submerged in the music with all the layers and distortion. It becomes hypnotic almost as it progresses. Not as loud as some thought it might be, but it didn’t need to be. The visuals added a lot too. During the noise part of You Made me Realise, I was basically in a trance staring at the visual tunnel or whatever it was on screen. Amazing experience. Little Simz - as she mentioned at the start, you’re guaranteed a good time with her. Great performance just like in 2022. Zero complaints. The little DJ section wasn't something I expected but was cool. Kneecap - I had a blast but at this point in the night I was at my most intoxicated let's say, so I don’t remember it as clearly as I'd have liked to!    The xx - The sound for this was perfectly balanced (at least where I was) and the band were great. Lots of talkers, but with the crowd size and being kind of far back, it's to be expected. Intro was one of my favourite moments this year. Big Thief - really good live performers. The lead singer has a lovely voice. This was a nice chill way to kick off the mordor gigs for me.
    • I've been attending Primavera every year since my first one in 2017 & it's always been my favourite week of the year, but I think things have changed.   Firstly, the site just feels too busy in this current set-up. I'm sure it was a lot easier back in 2017-19 to get between the stages & then a good spot for the next one, but now you increasingly have to sacrifice parts of a set or miss them out completely to plan for later on. I wish we still had the Bits area over the bridge to spread everyone out.   But the main issue is the talking, it's always been here but this year it's been relentless & I just can't tolerate it any more. It's at every stage, and everywhere from the front to the back, there is no escape. Not focusing on nationalities, but a major dynamic now seems to be groups of people who are only focusing on their own good time & aren't interested if this affects anyone else. It seems essential that all members of the group are together at the same time, so it's people making telephone calls, people on shoulders waving phone torches, people barging through. It's alright, I'm only trying to watch The Cure here.   I will have a year away to think about it. I thought might give up completely but yesterday was a bit of a classic day after two unenjoyable ones. Adding Olivia Rodrigo to Baxter Dury, Gelli Haha, The XX, Gorillaz & Kneecap shows how good it can be, but as with everything, it's always the people that have the biggest impact.
    • Beartooth? Or are they a bit to shouty shouty
