dEUS and Balthazar will play Live /s Live. Triggerfinger will play their 3 last shows with Monsieur Paul in June (AB and 2 NL shows), so no RW i guess. Brutus is not on. I have no news from Hooverphonic but don't see them playing yet.

I wouldn't write off any of these bands tbh but the chances are indeed not great. I saw Brutus a few weeks ago (what a nice band live!) and they'd be super for The Slope.

Edit: Just saw that Triggerfinger was announced for TW Classic. So that one is definitely out.

I have asked myself the same thing in the past. The concept of having a party headliner at the end of the day was great. It could be for organisational reasons and specific agreements they've made with the local public administration but most probably it's for budget reasons. Maybe the cost/reward ratio wasn't good for them.

I certainly hope it'd come back one day though.

Correct.
Cost/reward ratio based (security costs are immense, Staff that has to work 4 days with less sleep, consumption is declining sharply vs drunk noisy people that hang around longer, ...).
+ It makes agreements with the local administration easier.

I'd guess Balthazar are out because Warhaus are in..

They would have been a big pull for me to! I was over the moon when they were announced to play Download

I see them twice last year, once as a sub for My Chemical Romance, which was amazing so I went for a second time during their own tour in Cardiff, and it was unreal. Such an amazing live show and Brian's voice is spot on and musically are one of the best sounds I have heard.

Foals have a nice Werchter-sized gap after announcing more European dates today, surely they’ll be in the next announcement?

Not sure about it. They wouldn't play Thursday, that would be 3 days in a row (they don't seem to do that earlier on tour). That leaves Friday or Sunday but both days seem pretty packed at the top of the bill. Could they squeeze between lil Nas and qotsa? That would be really great, I'd prefer to miss him
