If they added ritz, sun goes down and a certain romance they’d have themselves a setlist.

90 min set is pathetic for a band their size and when tickets are £75-£80

There is that, but then Foo Fighters could perform multiple more songs in the set times they put on. Generally to get your two hours or more these days you're £100+ which I wouldn't do unless it was a really can't miss.

I could see them maybe bringing back A Certain Romance for Glastonbury, but definitely not anything more than that.

And yeah, there was a rumour they were gonna be adding a few more songs for this tour but clearly not the case. 90 minutes is lame for a band of this stature and with this much material, but they’re seemingly refusing to budge from it.

I get the vibe they don't like playing live or at least Alex doesn't, seems like it's more of a chore to promote an album which is probably why they have mixed reviews live.

I do think the Foos music is a bit boring but at least they love what they do.

Hard agree.  I think 90 minute sets from Bands of their size with what ... 7 albums is inexcusable and lazy.  Should be 2 hours minimum.  Only doing 90 mins at Glasto as well - ridiculous!

Yep, having seen them the last 2 times they headlined, I'll probably go to The Chems DJ set instead.

They were brilliant in Coventry last night. The energy and atmosphere were electric. Really wasn’t sure about watching them at the pyramid having never seen them before but they’ve definitely won me over if they play a similar set to last night

Why on earth are they still bothering with Snap Out Of It?! A complete waste of a slot.
Oh and Arabella too 😴

I completely agree with you but I’ve seen Alex say before that Arabella is one of the songs he’s most proud of lyrically so assume it’s there to stay!

I was there too and agree.  I think they need to ditch Snap Out Of It though.

Clashfinder says 90 mins but I'd have though a headliner of their stature with 7 albums under their belt would be doing 2hrs easy?  The Beths did just over 90 mins in Manchester on Sunday FFS!

Seldom play shows longer than ninety-five minutes, to be fair.

Cop out - agreed fully! 90 mins for a pyramid headliner is absolute bear minimum territory

I love them as a band and their output over the years, but they just really frustrate me live - whether it be the setlist or their effort (or lack of). Really annoying as they have all the tools and potential to make the shows really special without needing to do much at all.

By that metric, they failed twice last year with Billie Eilish (eighty minutes) and Kendrick Lamar (eighty-five minutes).

Paul McCartney actually played longer than the pair of them combined with his one-hundred-and-seventy-minute show.

Think you can forgive Billie Eilish with only 2 albums and a Bond theme to her name.  Surprised Kendrick Lamar was that short as he's got a fair back catalogue to go at.

I'm quite sure people will disagree, but for me if you can't fill a 2 hour set with quality (no filler) then you shouldn't be headlining the Pyramid.  Obviously "quality" is subjective, but you know what I mean.

Maybe a pass for newer artists with less albums like Billie and Stormzy because it's good to have an up and coming act each year, but Kendrick and AM have no excuse.

All three this year have more than enough to fill 2hrs + so not sure why Arctics are the only one doing 90.  Lazy

Also they’ve played ritz to the rubble in the recent past

They have indeed. Saw them do it at Mad Cool Festival in Madrid a few years ago. Remember it being quite good, even if I prefer The View from the Afternoon and was a little bummed to discover they played that in Lisbon the night before but not in Madrid.

But as its rarer I can be happy with it's appearance.

It is curious that they've been doing an 18 main plus 3 encore set since Suck it and See in 2011, with a few 17+4 or 17+3 sets in there as well. Though stadiums might get longer but clearly, still on their terms as this template being religiously followed.

    • Think Pulp are optimistic, not in terms of size but just that they've been on the road (albeit not intensively) for 3 years in a row and it feels like EotR is the deliberate end of the cycle.   Would be fairly surprised if they're active next year.
    • 👍 plus they brought their own screens 📺 either side of the stage.
    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
    • No argument that he’s bigger than ever, I just have no enthusiasm for it.
    • Keep in mind those crowds were full of teenagers. Glasto aint full of teenagers. Theres no way she could demand headline and get it because they got other acts to give the slot to who deserve it with a bigger catalog. Reading/Leeds would headline her cause its still LN.  If the fest was struggling its Other headline. But a 3rd down Pyramid is likely the landing spot. Itll go down like the Camila Cabello performance pretty much.
