Let's face it, not quite the same vibe is it (which is also fine). Might go there for a rest and have a lovely little listen on my picnic blanket.

Maybe the field will be busy enough with people getting spots for Elton nice and early but the circus folk will be pretty redundant without a decent flash mob option poor people

TBF if the legend slot got back to the Kenny Rogers days occasionally that would be nice. Husband had a lovely nap during that one.

Yes it would be but it would be proper rammed. If not legend then some spot on on of the bigger stages.

He's definitely a Pyramid level act, but for me more along the lines of Kris Kristofferson, BB King, Jackson Browne, CSN, Don McLean etc who rock up to El Pointo without all the legend slot hullabaloo.

The Kris spot is a terrific idea, actually. Fourth on Pyramid on a Friday, leading into something with a little more grunt.

Not playing any S&G tunes but throwing in a few new ones instead was an own goal.

This.

Paul Simon is one of the most disappointing gigs I have been to,I was expecting it to be like Ray Davies the year before with loads of good sing alongs but it was really poor. PS missed a chance to play one of those sets that would have had people talking about it for years.

I remember him saying he was unwell, if it was that serious he should have pulled out of the gig.

It'll be like Paul Simon. Largish crowd growing restless.

A bit different I think, It was a poor set from Simon and there was a lot of expectation from the crowd that he'd bust out S+G tunes - Seems like Yusuf / Stevens does generally play the hits, I don't think the crowd are going to be there expecting anything other than what they're going to get.

I'd seen him a few years before and was expecting similar.

A tighter version of this

I would have a lot of respect for Yusuf though if instead of playing all the hits he just did a rendition of one of his Islamic spoken word albums

I hadn't seen him before but I would have expected a streamlined version of that set list, which would have gone done really well with the majority of the crowd I reckon.

I dunno. Looking at the evidence of his most recent show he performed a few songs about Islam in front of a backdrop of the Al Aqsa Mosque.

Do we only party between 16.00 and 17.15 on the Sunday now?

Yep... and only at the Pyramid apparently.

The rest of the stages are basically just people crying.

    • Ethel Cain and Brutus to bookend the day were my highlights. Had been listening to Brutus a bit over the last few weeks and had no clue the vocalist was the drummer, insane workload! Ethel was just other-worldly, and even managed to shut the yappers in the crowd up.   Lana was late, flat, but I was stood near the back and away from the masses and it was alright. Ocean Boulevard stood out, not least because her backing singers seemed to know how to perform better.    Even stuck around for most of The National and really enjoyed a band I've never got on board with before. Just so much good music happening!

    • Jai Paul was massively underwhelming, but Barry was exxxxxxcelent
    • On a serious note,  would anyone be up for an efestivals meet up tomorrow?  Me and @allribena will be ootnaboot
    • My minor grumbles from today: I didn’t realise the bands would go on until after midnight. I missed the headliners as it was past my bedtime.    I went to all of the bars and not one of them sold Blue WKD. Nor did they do White Russians.    Why aren’t there seats around the other stages like at cupra?   Too many people in hats.    Nowhere to take your shoes off.   Water taps only did still water- no sparkling.    I got a stone in my shoe.    Not enough men with beards- have they gone out of fashion?   People didn’t extinguish their marijuana cigarettes when I requested them to.    Not enough people complimented my witty t shirt.   Nowhere sold Staffordshire oatcakes or Derbyshire pikelets.    Too many toilets.    My nunchucks were confiscated upon entry
