I guess the climate change problem is too big a problem..so may as well not worry about it. Fuck it.

It's way too late anyway, unless we more or less stop producing anything (immediately) that's not needed to sustain life and even then it probably isn't enough.

I am cynical as well but that doesnt stop me trying my best. This is best in a different thread of its own but Big Oil are funding research into technocratic methods to geoengineer the climate. For them they won't have to hit Net Zero.

On the climate change point, has anyone noticed how unseasonably warm it still is? It is nearly November and I could have got away with walking around in a t-shirt and shorts this evening.

Aye, it's warm right enough! For once I'm not complaining, given how expensive it is to heat my flat at the moment - although I realise that's a pretty selfish point of view!

Couple of big mistakes early in his time in office … copping out of kop , and Suella … wonder how much leeway he gets with electorate … and how long before opinion turns and thinks he’s another Boris bullshitter ?

quite big maybe...not sure many people actually give a shit about cop, and I reckon suella will be out if she makes one more fuck up...and then the right will lose their flagbearer in the cabinet.

Environmental issues regularly comes out as the top issue for voters in polling, it’s a much more important issue than stuff like immigration or asylum.

Remember a couple of days ago I pointed out that Sunak’s decent personal polling was due to remain, LD/Lab voters? Well slipping things like COP will have an impact on those voters and his rating could then started to decline.

Didn't you criticise Truss for attending the UN assembly? But I think you are right. Not attending cop at least for one-day sends the wrong type of message on Climate Change

I did criticise her for it. I can see his reasons for not going but it doesn’t give off the best message especially with news today about him receiving donations from fossil fuel firms.

    • I'm surprised they risked it, especially after nearly missing their Glasto 22 slot under similar circumstances  I did see someome say Ellie didnt sound as strong as recently but I'm guessing playing 3 shows in 2 different continents doesnt help that    On the topic though I can definitely see them doing a Fontaines and having a break over winter before a few final Clearing shows next summer
    • That's fair on WA - I did recall people thinking Fontaines would take this year off before this was announced.    On the subject of Wolf Alice, they did Lollapalooza in Chicago on Saturday then Kendal Calling last night. Bit of an odd choice, no? Half imagine at Kendal that they would've been just exhausted.
    • Just logged onto the app to start planning my days and there really are a LOT of stages missing. Apart from the Seaside Stage there is no Casemates this year etc. Apart from the Seaside Stage, there are no Casemates this year, etc. Can't see anything about the kids field really. And there's local acts that are normally there like Kojak's Revenge that aren't appearing either.  Normally we get down fairly early but I can't see anything before 3pm I'm keen to see. Only one real clash as well, which is good, but it's thin and it's not thin in the sense of "I've seen a lot of these acts before"
