I think corner shops will be open? Could be wrong though. I know some of the big supermarkets are keeping their small branches open for limited hours.

Possibly helpful:

Asda will be open only after 5pm and no online deliveries will be offered. Large Sainsbury’s and Tesco stores will be shut all day, apart from some in central London and Windsor. After 5pm, Sainsbury Local and petrol stations and Tesco Express will be open.

One local cafe said they were open as normal today. SUCH a lot of support for them from people saying they will purposely go there for the first time as a mark of respect.

I think it’s great that so many companies are giving their staff the day off. It can only be a good thing for those staff (if off on full pay) to spend more time with family and friends etc. Companies should do it more often.

Handy to know about Asda. There is one a couple of miles from me and apparently the trams are running.

Assumed there'd be no normal radio today but have just seen Lauren Laverne tweeting that there is. Imagine it will be low energy stuff again? Will give it a go when I sit down to work shortly.

Or maybe people just think the whole thing really bizzare ? Not seen anyone riled up as you put it on here . However they might be riled up about about massive inequality of the royals which as a Tory hater I’m sure you agree with ?

It is bizarre but some people have been pretty riled up at people standing in a queue; calling them all sorts of names is evidence of that.

When there is such inequality in this country getting angry at regular people standing in a queue seems an odd way of dealing with said inequality. I’ll await the anger being adjusted to the cost of living package.

Where ? On here or elsewhere ? You completely miss my point ?  … there may well be some people riled up on twitter about those people but it’s likely people are rilled up about just about everything on there . Answer the question …. Are you happy about the massive wealth of the royal family ? Yes or No ?

Yes on here, take a look back at the last few pages in this thread. People are much more angry at people standing in a line than any of Truss’ Corporate Profit Protection Scheme which really does keep wealth in the energy companies at the expense of people. I look forward to you commenting on that in the next few days.

I’ve already answered that by saying if we can get rid of the Monarchy and have a system that isn’t open to abuse then we should go for it. I would have fears that if we did get rid of them their riches wouldn’t be shared round fairly.

Quote one … and round in circles we go please explain how you know how angry other people are about things ? We had pages and pages about cost of living … there is even a large thread and poll about it in the glastonbury section I set up …. Today weirdly people might think talking about the royal family is also very relevant
