76,000 tests yesterday ... covid must have taken the weekend off ... it would help if they didn’t book people slots for after the test centres close !!

Can I ask a dumb question. Forgive me. Is there 100,000 people out there every day that need a test?

Is it not the case that there isn’t enough demand for 100,000 people wanting a test every day? I know some staff in the NHS who have declined tests because they don’t think they have it.

I would like to see a breakdown of this though. Is the ideal model where they test NHS workers daily or every, say, two or three weeks?

I'd also be interested in those numbers.

However, if we had the capacity, there's far more people out there other than NHS workers who could do with a test.

The numbers would suggest there isn’t. Supply and demand, the supply is there, demand doesn’t seem to be.

Can’t think that matters so much at the moment ... because people either need it or they don’t and people don’t have other things that they have to be getting on with in terms of plans ... we will see the numbers go up then on mon ? Although your next post seems to state we don’t need the numbers of tests available ?

I had a temperature earlier this week and would quite like a test for myself and my family. But it's been made quote clear there's not enough tests for those with mild symptoms who are able to self isolate. If I could book a visit to a drive through test centre, of course I'd do it.

I don't buy for one second that out of 67million people, 100k a day is remotely enough to satisfy the demand if tests were widely available.

Where do you work? Do you work from home / do you have a member of your family out “on the front line” as it’s called?

There aren’t enough tests for those with mild symptoms, and really, is that a bad thing? Surely the tests should be prioritised for those on the front line or those who have stronger symptoms?

if we are talking anti body tests, then yes, 100k a day isn’t enough. However, I don’t think a test like that is on the market.

I genuinely think the more he is criticised the stronger his support base gets. It’s almost anarchistic at this point. People have lost so much faith in political figures they would rather someone burned the country down than fixed it. They don’t care what he does as long as it makes the status quo “weep”.
