That is fucking tempting. But what if I don't like it? 😬

I'd guess they'd let you sample it at that price. You'd hope so at least. And if that fails, there's always someone to help you finish it off at the meet 😉

Got a question for the cider experts. Is there a decent cider you can drink a lot of?

For previous Glasto’s I’ve always taken Strongbow, I know you can barely class it as cider.

It’s advantages are decent .abv and has the same bland taste whether its warm cold or flat so ideal to be left in a tent all day.

I’ve been trying to get into Thatchers Gold. Taste is spot on, no complaints there but it plays havoc with my digestion due to all the fruit and sugars so after 3-4 cans I can’t drink any more of it.
At least strongbow has never even seen an apple.

What would you recommend to a northerner who wants to drink a lot of volume but who hasn’t got the hardy West Country constitution.

Westons Family Vintage. Flat still cider, 5% and tastes lovely. Don't think it comes in cans so you'd need to buy a 10 litre box and decant.

It does tend to increase the amount of alcohol in the liquid part - ethanol melts at a lower temperature to water.

Thank you. Last time was on the very hot Wednesday afternoon in 2010 when the World Cup football was on 😂

Would it not cause the can to rip open when the cider expands whilst freezing?

Not had many issues … I’ve lost the odd can as colateral damage but it’s worth it when drinking ice cold cider on the Sunday

Just tried this for the first time, very nice but unbelievably sweet! (Expected). Couldn’t have more than 2 or 3 of them.

Yeah 2-3 would be my limit and I’ve a sweet tooth

£12 off the 10 litre boxes. I do love the cloudy vintage 😁

I love the Organic (6%) but prefer the Family Vintage if i'm going to be drinking a fair bit as it's only 5%.

Any idea how long this will keep? I'm planning to buy 2 x 10 litres, only 1 will be opened at a time - will the 2nd still be ok in a month or 6 weeks time?

Almost certainly, if you don't open it.

That's good as i've bought them now. I'll have plenty of cider in stock for Bearded Theory, probably a bit for Glasto if I decide to take some - these days I tend to just drink from the bars and just take a decanted bottle or 2 of whisky for my hip flask.

are there any good proper ciders that sell online in 5lt bags that anyone knows of?

Tesco sell a Westons Cider, think its a 3l for about £7

Or Lilley's cider so lots of boxes, different sizes and flavours

Bit more mainstream, but still ok:

Edit: of all of those, it's only the first link that is both proper and 5l.

    • Brazil's first half was genuinely dreadful all round, not just the midfield, so they're absolutely not bulletproof. Whether Scotland have the quality to take advantage is a different question.   Tbf, that's as much on Morocco looking good, which I did think was a possibility. They could be a bit annoyed with themselves not to have scored more before Vini's goal tbh.
    • Surely nowadays with so much data analytics available on every division in world football and so much awareness that people aren't suckered in on the basis of a decent World Cup game... right?   Although tbf, from what I saw, Australia's game plan worked very well. But that was as much thanks to Turkey blowing varying opportunities given they created enough chances but couldn't finish, a la what happened with Switzerland against Qatar when they really could and should've won by 3/4 goals.
    • I missed Viagra Boys for a good spot for Gorillaz. Was a nice weekend and festival for me. Would definitely come back, if the line up is right. Get back home safe everyone.
    • The Last Temptation - new Heaven 17 documentary film directed by James Strong. Premiered at Sheffield Docfest this weekend.    I really enjoyed it. Affectionate, insightful, and honest. A nice mix of archival and footage, interviews and clips from the last tour. Martyn and Glenn are like an old married couple.   Plus a snippet of news from the Q&A, Martyn is recording new BEF material, and Phil Oakey has collaborated on the one of tracks. The film shows them meeting in Fagans for the first time in over 35 years.
    • Glad I’ve still got it booked off for my 50th
