Will the acts not already have been booked long before now? Or are we saying this on the assumption that they always knew it would sell out so booked a poor lineup

Architects for example who haven't long released an album. I certainly think they will see how the festival does before booking someone like that. No need now for anyone that plays higher than academies. They have 5 arena bands there and two subs that can do arenas too at least. Maybe not the dearest albeit but still arena money bands. You've got some 3rd down bands to come I think but no subs.

Fuck me we’re going round in circles here, can we just wait for the next announcement before asking who tf we think is coming out next, we’ve exhausted all the sodding names

I feel like we’re coming back round to the regular “Are MCR coming back next year?” discourse, to be followed shortly with the “Will Radiohead ever come back?” conversation.

Christ we need an announcement.

That’s only every year, we all #MCR22 is in full swing

and I’ve only mentioned Radiohead once I’ll have you know

what are your thoughts on the topic however? 😝

Good line up!

Clashfinder seems to have an issue at the minute but I'll wait to see how bands pan out first. I'm a fan of early Billy Talent but Can't say I'm that bothered by them gone. I can see all who I'd see clashing though on this now that they are all bigger and £82.50 for a ticket is outrageous. They've sold out a little for me now and both previous additions were better in my own opinion.

I can’t remember whether the supposedly leaked version of the R+L lineup had Slowthai on the Sunday. Does anyone have it to post it again, can’t be bothered to scroll back through the pages.

It was Saturday.

The XX secret set...

i think a lot of people would find that underwhelming, can't see it personally (also if the xx were all about, surely they would be doing APE as all of them - even if they were there recently)

also, creamfields announcing more artists, looking plausible for an r+l announcement soon (PLEASE)

Same here, after BMTH the year before, The Sherlocks was a disappointment only R&L could pull off haha

    • I don’t think the festival automatically ‘need’ to have a female headliner if you have strong female headliners on the Other Stage (which I reckon will be Rosalia and Phoebe Bridgers), perhaps a female legend (praying for Annie, will take Cher), and a few female/mix gendered subs on the Pyramid (maybe London Grammar, The xx). From what I’ve seen of Sabrina, her team prioritises the pay day and I think she will be doing Wembley over Glasto weekend.   One thing I’ve noticed is a lot of the suggestions would be first time headliners and I can’t work out when the last time was that the festival had three artists top the bill that hadn’t topped it before? It seems to be something they like to do to make sure they have a ‘safe’ headliner that will land well with the masses. Plenty of names in that hat that could step back up next summer and should/could be about: Billie Eilish, Adele, Foo Fighters, The Cure, Radiohead, U2…hell, if Beyoncé is really planning to release a ‘rock n roll’ album to complete her Renaissance trilogy, Glastonbury would be a great place to ‘kick off’ that campaign for her.   And there’s always the Rihanna rumour. Her husband (I think) said this week she’s in the studio.
    • And all (or all but one) of the secret sets repeats though?
    • 1. Coming with my sister (our 4th Sziget together) 2. 3 days (Thursday-Saturday). Would rather do Tuesday-Thursday but not enough AL 😞 3. Wednesday evening  4. Apartment  5. FATM (will be my 10th Florence’s gig) 6. Parcels/Paris Paloma
    • Temperature was the main issue - luke warm at best
