That'd be a good booking for the festival, would really like to see them.

Remember them being announced to support Bruce Springsteen in Italy, I think. Year before last? With Tash Sultana and Sam Fender, if I recall right.

Played the Other Stage last year

I keep looking at gig prices and think stadium/outdoor gigs cannot maintain their same levels for much longer. Then I see acts like The Stereophonics and Khruangbin announce shows which seem far bigger than you’d expect for their size.

See, I'm not surprised by those Stereophonics ones. They would regularly sell-out full-dozen date UK arena tours every two years before the pandemic, and sold out the one arena run they've had since. Get a quality support behind them, and they'll be fine.

But prices are going to be steep. No idea how much Khruangbin will charge either, but that surprises me.

Standing is £80 region for one of the Stereophonics ones, seats in the £70-90 from a brief thing I saw earlier.

I agree too, I think the dates fit their size, 2022 was arenas plus Cardiff stadium, some of these others are about right size wise like Huddersfield stadium.

That's not quite as horrendous as I thought it might be.

A flat £80 to watch them do Finsbury, presumably with the full two-hour show and some decent support acts - though it's not likely to be on the quality of them having Tom Jones and late substitutes Feeder - will make that worth it, in the current market, especially among middle-class Radio 2 pockets.

It was about £60 at Manchester Arena in 2022 so seems about right for a stadium / outdoor show. Im holding out just in case they end up doing Neighbourhood Weekender, but have a cancellable hotel booked for Huddersfield if that doesn't happen

That's a shout. Is NW still a thing?

Back this coming year apparently, the festival even said when they announced they weren't putting it on that they were back for 2025.

They fit the headline slot there perfectly, and it could be argued that's a different target area than Huddersfield covers. With us living so close that we can get a train back each night, I don't want to waste the money on getting tickets somewhere else along with hotels, around Glastonbury time, only to find that gets announced in a few weeks (usually start of Nov). We'd being going to NW anyway. Definitely seeing Stereophonics somewhere though!

Interesting. Will be curious to see if it does make it back Stereophonics exactly the kind of artist you'd be wanting atop the bill there, though perhaps getting Huddersfield shifted first will be priority.

If no room at Heaton Park for them to do their annual big Manchester show next year, Courteeners could be a feasible shout for this too.

yeah I thought the same, they did 2018 and 2022, and have a new album out this time so wouldn't surprise me. I'd be 100% in if it was those two!

    • I got super early bird too....i was that chuffed i ticked a couple of the charity contribution boxes
    • I would be very surprised as well if they are are European Festivals and Werchter isn't one of them. They have done Roskilde before but with big gaps   They have done NOS once and they have done Mad Cool once while playing 3 times at Werchter during the period Mad Cool has ran.
    • Whole thing seems a bit sus to me.
    • wtf. Those Moroccons in Cueta can't just go into EU anyway, they would need to go through further checks before Schengen.
