Are we all getting a bit excited?  Why would they keep bands such as Pearl Jam quiet?  Festival Republic are in this to make money by selling tickets.  Keeping someone as good as them secret doesn't sell tickets.  I think we might be disappointed.

Hopefully I'm wrong, like my wife always says.

Not that fussed about PJ, just that I noticed they were in the neighbourhood. They way they have bigged up the act this year I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s someone of that magnitude.

people hung around to see what the secret set there was ...nothing

A fair point, unless the 'iconic secret act' is also down to make an appearance in one of  the headline sets, rather like Thom Yorke did with Portishead a few years ago. I'd put a decent bet on whoever it is playing that secret set performing a number or two with the Killers later in the evening....?

So, IF the amazing happened and England were in the final on Sunday, what's the capacity of the Music and Film Arena? I assume it's a tent and will have a finite capacity as opposed to a big field with screens...?

On FB in response to world cup questions they have said it is on in the music and film arena, possibly plus big screen TBC. So I think that means if England are in the final they will have an aditional screen/venue.

I guess they are waiting to see what happens :)

my wife said that she had an email that suggested that if needed there would be a big screen in the village area, outside the arena..

Looking at the stage times, if by some miracle England were to win the final  (in normal time) it would be straight into the tent to celebrate with IDLES. Now THAT would be a gig to remember !!!

Anyone think it could be Childish Gambino? Playing Spain Thursday, Lovebox in London on Friday so he’d be in the UK?

Sorry, but no

Lineup looks great when you go through the clashfinder, would've gone this year 100% if I was free.

Any reason why the great Paul Simon isn't being touted for the secret act?

    • Plenty of good stuff this month. Very difficult choice, but I'm going with some of those I've listened to most (the sunny weather may also have been influential)...   1. The Coral - 388 2. Kurt Vile - Philadelphia's Been Good to Me 3. The Lemon Twigs - Look For Your Mind!   Others I've been enjoying... Laurie Anderson's live album, Broken Social Scene, Pigeon, The Black Keys, etc
    • Yesterday was was Primavera is all about and a reminder of why I come back every year. I saw 9 acts, very diverse in terms of genre and vibe, and most of them were great.  Highlights:   The Cure - have wanted to see them for years. Finally caught them and it was immaculate. Robert Smith's vocals at his age are incredible. The band sounded exactly like the albums which is impressive. 2.5 hours with basically no filler somehow.  Viagra Boys - what a front man! So much energy. Non stop moshing. Sound was great, vibe was top notch. Again 10/10 for me.  Rilo Kiley - basically what pipan said. Not a huge crowd but nice vibe, good sound. Different from the other acts I saw.   I also enjoyed the late night electronic stuff with Aurora Halal and KI/KI being fun. Caught some of Skrillex before Aurora Halal and it was cool in it's own way but not really my thing so we left.
