No Dub Pistols :(

Just checked with the band and it's a no. One of my Glastonbury traditions is seeing these guys on Thursday at 6pm at the Glade. Kinda starts the festival off, like seeing uncle Bill play at Leftfield, some things shouldn't change.

Kind of guessed it based on their tour dates, Thursday was at best a slim hope. Oh well, will just have to get tickets for Brighton

No Dub Pistols anywhere or just the Glade?

So do we know if PSB are going to be there this year?

Doesn't look like it. The main man with the funny name said "you'll have to ask them" or similar when asked if they were playing.  I suppose they could still be added onto the bill, but an act their size would probably have been announced by now.

I hope I'm wrong. I love West End Girls.

Barry said they weren't at the festival full stop.

Ah right. Cheers. Shame that. Seen them loads mind, but do love catching them at Glastonbury.

I think they are probably playing at 70% of all the festivals were going to this year. Plus we've already seen them 3 times this year so I'm only disappointed because i'll break the tradition. I'm seeing Barry in a couple of weeks so will get the low down then.

No no, sorry, I was referring to the good PSB.

Tennant and Lowe can jog on.

I've often worried that Public Service Broadcasting sit too far on the wrong end of the hauntology-nostalgia fetish spectrum and finding out your man puts Esq. at the end of his name isn't improving things.

They sit too far on the wrong end of where music becomes noise and not songs for me.

It should be a case of the songs make the synths, not the other way round.

Give me the anthemic sing alongs of the Pet Shop Boys over the pretensious noodling of Public Service Broadcasting all day long.

Noise? What are you on about? Have you actually heard Public Service Broadcasting?

Yes and seen them live at Jodrel Bank when they supported New Order. They were boring as hell. Perfect music to take Ketamine to. It was awful pretensious shite.

FFS easty, what are you doing on here if you don't like pretentious noodly shite anyway? ;)

I ask myself the same question regulary mate. I don't like Radiohead, LCD Soundsystem nor pretensious noodly shite. How I have not been forcibly removed from Efests over the last few years, I have no idea.

I am a bit worried about the Efests meet as I don't fancy being the first man to ever be chin stroked to death.

Haha it should be good mate.

In all truthfulness, I love this forum as even though everyone has differing views and I sometimes sit there shaking my head in disbelief (See 30% of people who voted prefer Muse over Depeche Mode), we all disgree in such an amicable manner that it is quite refreshing. There is no animosity what so ever (apart from Neil when he has a bee in his bonnet over politics)

I love the way Stu takes it in his stride when I tell him he likes shit pretensious noodly crap.

This. I always cringe when I see their fake names.

Great tunes though.

Oh aye, it's good to have a bit of passion about these things, even if you are completely wrong!

Rather my music was pretentious than dull ;)
