Showers

Apologies if this has been covered before, but I'm working on the basis facilities change/are slightly different each year. How easy is it to get a shower, the website doesn't give much away & I haven't been before so hoping someone can explain how feasible it is to have a wash?

Assuming you're camping in general camping areas, then there are showers in the Greenfields.  I've never taken advantage of these, but I understand there's a ticketing system so you go get a ticket and then go back at the allotted time.

Alternatively you can take a kettle and cooker and have an all-over wash in your tent, which keeps you pretty clean!

I showered at Greenpeace just once last year...it's a hot shower and you can only use their soap/Shampoo. When I went it was later in the afternoon and got in with no wait time...very easy. Plan to do it a couple times this year as well.

I normally do without a shower but it's amazing how having one can totally change your mood on the day. I just feel more ready for fun when I'm all clean. So I may actually try finding the showers this year.

Pretty much the same reason I was so keen to find out..!

One of my friends who I camp with does go to them every year at the Greenpeace fields and she can be away for a good couple of hours at least, she usually goes mid-morning/early afternoon.

We use the showers about twice every year. If you go in the mornings, the queues will be longer. We usually get a number, go for breakfast, and come back later. You might have 1+ hour of waiting time. Maybe less if you're lucky.

You feel rejuvenated after, so it's worth waiting for.

First time i started showering at glasto was 2010 due to the heat. After being put off by the morning queues, I'd head over to green peace area in mid to late afternoon where you could walk straight in.

What a boost it gives you! Really sets you up for the evening / late night shenanigans.

Showers at entrance to kids fields also - queue always seems fairly long in the mornings, I usually try to find a gap in bands early friday evening as it can be a bit quieter at that stage - nice mid-point of the festival for a refresh.  You can usually rent a towel there too, so no need to lug one around - less sure about shower gel though, I usually hope someone's left some behind for the next person (not a great strategy!)

What's the story with the ones at the Kidz Field? Is it a ticketing system or just turn up and queue?

Yeh turn up and queue. I showered there on Thursday last year. Get a toastie and a cuppa tea and it goes pretty quick. Was waiting about 20 mins but i've heard of 2 hour queues in the past.

I had a shower on the Friday at Greenpeace last year - got a ticket and an approximate time to come back, it was a 3 hour wait but I went back to camp and returned later and had a coffee while I waited.  The only thing I didn't do was take a costume and they are communal so remember this if you are the shy type.

What's that? Tell me more!

I've never been but Sams magic hat runs on a donation system and is a wood fired sauna and shower.  it's up near the unfair ground side of greencrafts I think. Lost horizons is on top of the tipi field not far from the sign and is a clothing optional part of the festival walled off with its own stage and a sauna yurt you can pay per visit or get a weekend wristband

Interesting. Thanks for the info... I'll have to explore better this year.

I told myself that I can no longer do without a shower at Glastonbury, so this year I'm bringing a pop-up shower tent and a few solar showers to hang from a tree or a fence.

Gonna try this method out in the back garden first, but if all else fails I guess I could go to the Greenpeace showers.

If anyone has any experience with solar showers and pop up shower tents please let me know!

If you want to fork out £99 you can get a zooloos ticket. It's a 5 min walk from pedestrian gate D (the site says 10-15 but it's not), and as well as showers they have flushing toilets(!), electricity and food. Queues are quite short too. http://zooloos.co.uk/events-page/glasto/

Are the Greenfields ones 24 hours? Better to get a shower on the way home while spangled to save time and be all fresh for your tent.

I would go with this method too. Won't miss much waiting around.

I don't think so - think i read in a previous post that they open about 7am and close about 9pm... Hopefully someone who knows more will correct me if I'm wrong as I've never used them myself

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
