Disabled parking is free as long as you submit a request form into them, had to send photo of blue badge too. Don't know if you are using spring ground - but there is a shuttle minibus service that drops you there.

I have no idea mate. I have put in a request for the disabled toilets, disabled parking and use of the cut through's. I got an email saying that I had been accepted. I had to provide evidence of my illness.

There was no mention of paying for parking and where the disabled parking actually is.

– Blue badge holders do not need to buy a Festival parking ticket but mustregister for disabled parking by completing the Access Requirement Pack.

– Parking in the accessible carpark is limited so friends/ family arriving in separate vehicles will not be able to use this car park.

Cheers mate.

Does anyone know where the disabled parking part is?

unfortunately the local landowners have been upping the amount they have been charging to rent the land that we park on ... so either the festival pays less to its charities or the car parking charges increase .. unfortunate but true ... perhaps try some of the other alternatives that the festival offers .. like cycling .. national express busses .. see tickets busses .. or the train to castle cary and free shuttle to gate A will get you a lot closer and save some walking .. but due to the scale of the site yes some walking will be involved to and from the car parks

I'm sorry but i'm full of sceptisism around this. From another standpoint it's a very easy way to raise revenue without hiking the ticket price too much. Without car parking the alternatives wouldn't be able to cope. So whilst I understand the pressure form landowners I also think something else is going on here as well. given that the car park fee has for more than doubled in 10 years, in fact in may well have trebled in that time.

yes it is an easy way to increase revenue I agree ... but can't they just do it simply by adding a couple of quid to the overall price ?! and having the same overall effect ? if that were the case ... whats your theory then ?

Ticket price is headline grabbing. Car park fee goes way under the radar. I'm not complaining, it makes complete business sense. Maybe I'm wrong but like I said I'm an old sceptic :)

I suppose so .. but a couple of extra pounds across everyone that attends will go under the radar especially as the price increases  annually anyway

You also need to factor in the discouragement element as well, Glastonbury likes it's green credentials, they actively want to encourage as much use of public transport and car sharing as they can, making the car park ticket £45 will help with this.

I don't know if it does, £45 is crazy for a car park pass and I can't be affording that again when it'll likely be £25 each based on two or even more, not that long ago it was only this in total and last year I believe was £35.

Even the transaction fee has gone up.

This now becomes £270+.

It's enough that I might just wait when it comes to the 50th year for the release depending on bookings as close to £300 is too much I reckon, yes they will in big names etc but at that price it has to be remembered that the acts agreed to play for a low fee.

I love the festival. LOVE it.

But £45 to park your car. In a field. Flipping nora.

Glad I'm a coach-monkey!

:)

Ben

while I agree that £45 is ridiculous, the coach prices work out far, far more expensive in my experience. our group has looked into getting the coach a few times, but 3 in a car is £15 each, plus petrol money. the coach prices from pretty much anywhere are way more than that per person.

each has pros and cons, but on price only, going by car is far more affordable IMO.

Yeah, I've already acknowledged that my initial reaction was in no way well thought through!!

7.75 is on top of fiver for standard tickets. You must be on coach? Well I hope you know that cos you are if they're your costs.

I am indeed on the coach. First time since 2007. Let's hope that isn't a bad weather omen.
