Are you arguing for or against the defence?

Against, thats a stone cold party classic and 1st record I ever bought. I am no luddite. Press play to party.

All witnesses and defendants will be thoroughly pumped by Scruff in the debriefing room.

Really surprised he's not shown up and gone "as I do to yer missus every weekend!". Should we file a missing persons report?

To be fair, I liked the Suarez version.

The Schizo mix? Now you're talking, thats the one I fell in love with and still do till this day

Well, I can understand that they're not everyones cup of tea, but to try and ban one form of music over any others seems a little pointless/ridiculous.

Anyone making music, whatever the instrument, be it drums, guitar, computer, or Homer and his sax-a-ma-fone should be aloud to play.

What's the difference really between a man on a computer pressing a button on and making sounds as a DJ compared to a man pressing a button on a trombone? They're both skillful, you need an ear for music for both and I couldn't possibly ever do either.

What part is a wind up and what isn't @Cooter?

My criteria is - As long as its live mixing. Whether its Vinyl, CDJ's, Traktor or Ableton - Im good to go with any DJ playing a set.

A pre programmed set. With the odd effect for good measure - no chance.

That doesn't just apply to Glastonbury headliners, thats any DJ playing anywhere.

Am sorry Lawn, but the skill is in knowing when to use the innuendo. You can't just go around throwing "I nobbed your missus" gags at every opportunity. Otherwise you end up in some shitty sexist 70s sitcom or Benny Hill sketch. Especially when the original post was obviously intended to set up the double entendre.

There's expertise in my art, you know.

Plus in 24 hours I've now been dragged into two conversations in which I was taking no part and am not going to rise to the taunts. (no gags around me rising please).

You did it (ahem) to me on Sunday, Scruff!

Can we stop discrediting people who make electronic music? They don't just push a button and out comes a song

In the creation of said music, no.  As a live performance?  Some do and just dial in a performance.

As a good example I saw The Allergies this summer - proper turntable mixing, scratching and sampling.  Proper bo I tell thee.

This. It takes alot of talent and skill to play a proper DJ set. You need to know how to beatmatch properly for starters, you need to know which songs work together and that's just scraping the surface of playing a DJ set on a normal pair of Pioneers. Vinyl DJ's are next level. Check out DJ's like Motor City Drum Ensemble and Move D and tell me that there isn't something else going on there other than just playing some tunes. They are both highly respected DJ's because they have an ear for what works in a DJ set and what doesn't and they can read crowds like no other DJ's I know of.

    • Tbf that happened to me in 2022 so not a one off. 40 euros to drive down 3 streets. I'd have done a runner but the reason for getting the taxi in the first place is cos I couldn't walk no more.
    • I was fully prepared (waterproof jacket, extra pair of socks, foldable umbrella), but after four hours in the rain (from Geese through Oklou to Florence Road), it was just too much. Already at the hotel, let's hope tomorrow's better.
    • It’s rare that I watch question time, but I almost felt sorry for Kenyon, he seemed like a guy just brought off the street which effectively is what he was, made worse by the fact Burnham and the Tory guy were very strong debaters. I think Burnham was very aware not to go too hard on Kenyon and risk him getting sympathy, in fact he pretty much ignored him.
    • Shambles. Transport and comms garbage. Been looking forward to this since last June and have never been to a more disorganised festival in 30+ years.  Why we were told the whole festival was cancelled for the night if they had put back shows for a few hours?  Pissed off to say the very least and put a huge downer on the rest of the weekend.
