Lambchop have a new album out soon which would be lovely as well. Anyone mentioned Hiss Golden Messenger?

Saw Hiss Golden Messenger two weeks ago in Brooklyn with Tift Merrit in the band - simply stunning show and would make a great Garden stage addition

When do EOTR actually announce things?

Normally in the first couple of weeks of February. So a while to wait yet.

I'm convinced they could announce earlier, but they spend so much time editing their elaborate announcement videos, that we get a delay.

  • 2 weeks later...

Mixtures of guesses and wishful thinking!

Headliners

Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver, First Aid Kit

and

Lots of great shouts already listed (Lemon Twigs, Car Seat Headrest, Hiss Golden Messenger, Hope Sandoval etc)

2 acts on my dream list for EOTR who have LP's on the way - Son Volt and The Wrens

Do folk think there will be a Woods Stage headliner on the Thursday has there been any indication either way?

I think we're likely to see Matthew E White and Flo Morrissey this year. Both have played solo in the past and their new duet album is getting plenty of acclaim. I personally like their versions of Sunday Morning and Grease.

Does anyone else think there'll be some link up with Bella Union this year?

It's the label's 20th anniversary, EOTR gave them the whole Friday for their 15th anniversary back in 2012, the label have said that there are exciting things happening this year that they couldn't yet reveal, and Simon Taffe was also thanked later in the same piece.

Some exceptional artists on Bella Union, they could easily fill a day on all four stages.

    • RIP Roy Hattersley
    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
