stuartbert two hats
On a vaguely related note, The Bends is the most consistent record they've ever done by a long shot. More than OKC, Kid A and In Rainbows even. And the less said about TKOL and HTTT the better on that front! You can (and I do) argue that most of the other albums have higher points, but the quality level in Bends tracks is just so damned close. You can tell they were listening to the White Album a lot during OK Computer era, but I find Fitter Happier A bit weak.... as if they wanted to go all "Number 9", but cut short. I know its different, but it should be darker IMO, as in much darker. Or just speaking, nothing else. Ive seen a couple of old interviews with Thom & Johnny talking about listening to it at the time. Paranoid Android was designed in different parts, along the lines of Happiness is a Warm gun. The similarities of Fitter Happier & Revolution 9 are there. Ill try and find the interviews. Its s while since I saw them & picked up on it afterwards. SwedgeAntilles
1. Abbey Road 2. The White Album 3. Revolver 4. Rubber Soul 5. Let it Be The perfect album is an impossibility, but Abbey Road is a 'All Things Must Pass instead of Maxwell's Silver Hammer' away from it. It's an utter masterpiece and the medley is one of my favourite things ever. Having said that my top 3 have all held top spot at one point or another.
