On a vaguely related note, The Bends is the most consistent record they've ever done by a long shot.  More than OKC, Kid A and In Rainbows even.  And the less said about TKOL and HTTT the better on that front!

You can (and I do) argue that most of the other albums have higher points, but the quality level in Bends tracks is just so damned close.

Whilst we're at it, I really love Fitter Happier.  I think it's a beautiful piece of heartbreaking poetry.

You can tell they were listening to the White Album a lot during  OK Computer era, but I find Fitter Happier A bit weak.... as if they wanted to go all "Number 9", but cut short.

I know its different, but it should be darker IMO, as in much darker.

Or just speaking, nothing else.

The White Album? Really? How so, Fuzzy? Genuinely intrigued.

Ive seen a couple of old interviews with Thom & Johnny talking about listening to it at the time. Paranoid Android was designed in different parts, along the lines of Happiness is a Warm gun.

The similarities of Fitter Happier & Revolution 9 are there.

Ill try and find the interviews. Its s while since I saw them & picked up on it afterwards.

And the annual Stephen Hawking contest always takes place between 8pm and 9pm

Oh, I'm not playing.

He's done his own '9. Pablo Honey' t-shirt. I can't beat that.

Unless I can learn the Lotus Flower .gif dance between then and now.

Huh.

Its like the least cohesive Beatles album. Would like to have a watch.

I'm not sure who said it, but it's more like 4 solo albums. Or, more like 2 solo albums, a solo EP and a b side.

It's not even that, but I love it.

And yet, it's probably my 2nd favourite Beatles album (after Abbey Road, obvs)

To this day I don't get the 'Abbey Road is the best Beatles album' thing.

Really?

Revolver.

Let it be is better than Abbey road.

Rubber soul is better than revolver.

Come at me.

White album probably better than all four.

Yep.

Arguable. Bit of a toss up.

.

Nah. Its a bit stained by not being by 'The' Beatles. If that makes sense.

1. Abbey Road

2. The White Album

3. Revolver

4. Rubber Soul

5. Let it Be

The perfect album is an impossibility, but Abbey Road is a 'All Things Must Pass instead of Maxwell's Silver Hammer' away from it. It's an utter masterpiece and the medley is one of my favourite things ever.

Having said that my top 3 have all held top spot at one point or another.

The brass section returning to You Never Give Me Your Money...phenomenal.

Masterpiece is the perfect word for it.
