What sort of "set" do the Ozrics play these days? I really liked the early albums (Pungent Effulgent, Erpland, Jurassic Shift...) but I've not heard anything recent. Do I need to research? Are they now performing traditional folk, heavy metal or freeform jazz!

Saw them a few months back in Manchester and they were good. The venue had to pull the plug in the end because they kept on playing (as Ozric's tend to do :P)

Here's a recent set list http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/ozric-tentacles/2016/fox-theatre-boulder-co-7bf056c4.html

Nice to see them back at the festival.

gotta love a bit of Ozrics.

I agree with some of the other posters above though - was the same with Sentient last year, far too early in the day for my liking. I will have to start early on the ciders and herbals so to speak and see where the day takes me. I am sensing a sobering up time during the evening and then a full on assault in the evening.

No matter what time they are on will be fun though I just feel thats slightly early for a good old psych session

hehehe, I had Jurassic Shift on a cassette way back when. Used to listen to it after coming home from doing nightshifts at the casino. I daredn't listen to these days, I'd imagine it's abysmal, given many of my other purchases from that same era (Back to the Planet, RDF etc etc). I my defence, I was young and out of control. Needed a bloody good hair cut and a kick up the arse.

:o harsh - i think all 3 acts stand the test of time

I last saw the Ozrics around 1992 when I had 2 microdots and don't remember very much of it except lots of leaping around, random flute playing and an incredible light show. Maybe that was just the acid though.

Pungent Effulgent, Strangitude and Live Underslunky are still some of my favourite albums ever. So well recorded and produced. Fabulous musicianship. I'll make every effort to see them again but I'll be sober this time having gone 'straight' 8 years ago.

I thought these were absolutely ace this year, had a cracking' time at the Glade Saturday afternoon. Nice to see a band really enjoying themselves/stoned out of their minds

Brilliant stuff. I am checking out more of their back catalogue....

Great visuals as well, as you would expect from the Glade

they were fucking class. The new sound system on the Glade was amazing. I was gradually Gillespieing on cider and weed and the quadrophonics (if thats even the word) shook me shitless - was not expecting them at all. The end was great 'we have 2 minutes left, we don't really write songs like that' then they did another anyway. Great gig. Only problem was that a) I could have stood to watch another hour :( and b ) I would have liked it later on in the day.

Actually, where we were standing the Experimental Sound field elements were distracting, with randomly amplified keyboard lines all but drowning out the band.

I'm sure in the middle of the crowd it sounded fine, but at the back beneath one of the speakers it didn't come off quite so well.

I was at the back to the right as you look at the stage - first 2 songs I'll agree the keys were a bit overwhelming but they seemed to sort the sound out at least from where I was. So over an hour with awesome sound. Was ace.

yup pure bleedin' class in the middle! Best I've heard them since Pongmasters Ball days - and despite a lack of flute ;). Fruit Salad were as trippy as ever - total bliss!
