Pretty decent looking Unfairground line up to be fair. Anyone got any idea what 'The Stanton Warriors present Punks Allstars' could be? Not your standard Stantons I guess...

Going by its under the E TM: The Remix heading, it'll be more drum'n'bass/rock crossover type stuff. So...standard Stanton Warriors!

So we have no clue when the full announcement will be now ?

Better check every 10 minutes then xD

Tuesday at 10.30am I believe.

That's what I was told yesterday, and the fact it's appeared elsewhere without me having told anyone suggests other people know the same thing, which suggests it's right.

That would be perfect for me, as my exam ends at 10:30 :D I hope it's right!

I was one of the 'well sourced' people who dismissed radiohead subbing adele.

I am still confident that radiohead won't be subbing adele. I have also been told that it won't be a 'special guest' so I expect the adele sub to be announced with the line up.

Have you had any word on who it is or just that it's not Radiohead?

Now we've had Unfairground, I'm more inclined to think we'll get one or maybe two more over the weekend. There are now so few non-main stage places left that haven't released a line up, it doesn't make sense to leave the last few out. Plus I'd imagine they'd want their time in the spotlight.

I hope so, that would be nice over the long weekend :)

not heard anything about who it is just that it is very unlikely to be RH. I was just told that isn't a 'special guest' which I am guessing means whoever it is will be announced.

I am fairly confident radiohead will be at the festival though, just not subbing. I might be wrong but I would be really surprised based on what this person has been right about before.

I'd be more disheartened if your source actually had an alternative name.

In fact, none of the naysayers have offered an alternative name as far as I'm aware.

and that's just it - no one seems to know, while they know other acts (even if they're not saying).

My impression is that it's something a little different to just another band on the bill.

    • Policing is very relaxed, provided you stay within your lines I'd say. I don't think we're supposed to have an event shelter as well as a tent next to our van, but we've done it without issue for years. It's a happy vibe up there.
    • Do feel a lot more cynical about the Mercury now. Given the awards show is now an arena event, there's clearly a pressure on them to nominate mainstream acts in order to sell tickets for it. And not saying that Jade and Knats don't deserve to be nominated (haven't listened to either), but the fact the event is in Newcastle can't have nothing to do with that... (not to mention Fender winning last year, which frankly was a joke)    Hard not to agree with this: https://www.clashmusic.com/features/this-years-mercury-prize-is-a-pivot-towards-the-mainstream/
